August 30, 20224 yr Hello everyone, I am impressed by the scope of this forum. So I really hope to find help here. I am not a layman and have installed dozens of island photovoltaic systems. However, always with components from Victron Energy. Meanwhile, I wish I'd never touched that Axpert junk.... I know my problem is unfortunately well known, but I have done and checked everything suggested here and elsewhere. Yet I can't get my Pylontech batteries to communicate with the Axpert. I will describe the setting and my attempts in detail here: I have an Axpert 7200-48. Everything is wired correctly. I also have two US3000C. Everything is wired correctly, I think. I have checked the data cable: Inverter -> Master battery 3 -> 8 5 -> 7 Everything else is unconnected. DIP: Master battery 1 ON, 2,3&4 OFF Slave: all OFF (I have also tried various other settings, restarted the batteries properly each time, no difference) Batteries recognise each other correctly On the instructions of my supplier, I have also shut down the system completely several times, disconnected the solar, connected the battery only, restarted, everything is the same. Programme 5 was of course on PYL, but I also tried LIC. Everything always remains the same: after 1-3 minutes, 61 appears, the batteries are discharged but not charged, the system switches off at the inverter after 10 minutes. I even managed to get the WatchTower WLAN to work, but that doesn't help either. The only thing I haven't been able to do is update the firmware. I have U2 112 14. The inverter is from 03/22. So my questions: 1. is there any other source of error that I have overlooked? 2. does only the firmware update help and if so, what should I update to, where can I get it and what is the easiest way? 3. since I changed to USE in programme 5 in my distress, my settings are: Bulk Charging Voltage: 53.2V Float Charging Voltage: 51.8V Low DC cut-off Voltage: 47.8V Is this correct and/or do I have to change other parameters? September 5, 20223 yr Hi everyone, I have exactly the same problem with the exactly the same hardware. The Axpert Max does not 'see' the PV generator. Voltage on the PV INPUT terminals is 37V (inverter ON) while PV voltage after the breaker is +/- 400V. My supplier advises to run the inverter on program USE (not PYL) with the following parameters. 02 = 60A 05 = USE 11 = 60A 26 = 53.2V 27 = 53.2V 29 = 45V I presume the aim is to bypass the Pylontech BMS; inverter does not notice when I unplug the com cable. In the first place, it does not solve the problem. And secondly, I think Pylontech BMS takes better care over loading and charging than the Axpert. Please help. We are off-grid. Is that 37V reported by the inverter (display or via monitoring software), or by multimeter? If you're measuring very different voltages by multimeter at the breaker and PV input, then you must have a wiring problem. If you're saying that when the inverter attempts to use significant PV power the panel voltage collapses (at both the breaker and PV input), then you must have high resistance in the panel wiring, or an open circuit panel, or something is very wrong with either the inverter hardware or firmware.
September 5, 20223 yr @MartinJoaquim,have a look at the document attached released by segen solar, it is in regards to the chip shotage and incompatibility between the pylontech and Kodak, it may be possible that it also affects your hardware. Perhaps it is fixable with updated firmware, ask your supplier for the details. Kodak User settings.pdf
September 8, 20223 yr Hi I have thesame problem. The communication between Pylotech and Axpert wit 05 function Pyl DOES NOT work. As I complained at wccsolar and said there is many complains about this nobody wanted to confirm that. It seems to me you are right. They habe problem and the only way to avoid it to put 05 to use and adjust the values yourself. This is what they recomned me inwccsolat. Also they must be aware of this problem. I have of grid: 2x10 panels, 72. kW Axert und 3 Pylon US3ooo. The connection is so trivial, it cannot be done wrong. Can somebody help us Milan
December 4, 20223 yr That's right, I have also encountered this communication problem, and my provider has also told me to program it as USE and discard the cable! Another problem is that Pylontech will not recognize the warranty years if the batteries do not register the instances of communication with the inverter! That no one says!
December 17, 20223 yr After two months of seemingly flawless operation (without communication cable between masterbattery and inverter, but with communication cable between batteries), one day, I saw that the master battery showed full soc permanently, as if it was idling. Other batteries still charging/discharging as normal. My supplier (WCCsolar, Sevilla, Spain) said the battery BMS probably is damaged because I had all pins on 0001 (upside down) in stead of all batteries on 0000 (??). I decided to take the master out and run the system on the two remaining batteries. When I switched them on, they both went into alarm status (without buzzer, just the red light) and I can not get them started anymore. It looks like my supplier is not eager to help me out or, on the contrary. In my case, the master never should have disconnected itself from the series while the remaining two still go on. The load is calculated on 3 batteries, not on 2. My opinion is that the Pylontech US3000C on-board BMS is not OK, at least in the series I bought. However carefully connected, apparenty there must have been no or at least bad communication between the batteries.

You were right, there was something very wrong with my inverter. I connected the Pylontechs to two parallel MPPsolar inverters without communication cable (USE settings) and everything went fine. Hi @leifhain, you can change your settings by clicking on the bell icon on the top right of the web page and clicking on 'Notification Settings'. You'll also need to either quote or ping @Coulombor he might not find your message as he is a very busy man 😀 I wish I could help out with your batteries, but I don't know the pylontechs very well. It does seem strange to have all the dip settings the same on all batteries, usually they are different as this decides their address on the comms network and they all need to be unique to avoid confusion between them.

The address part of the dip switch settings seems to be associated with the group number, which seems to be a higher level address than the unit/module number, so that only seems to come into effect with more than 8 battery modules. I imagine that most Pylontech installations have 8 or fewer modules, so the inverter will show G01 at the bottom, and the dip switches would all be the same. That's all from memory as someone who has never owned a Pylontech, though I've poked around a little with the inverter firmware that talks to them.

I did the USE suggestion but I changed a few things 02 = 60A 05 = USE 11 = 60A 26 = 53.2V Bulk charge to keep it safe 27 = 52V Float charge 29 = 46V Low DC cut off, again to stay safe It worked! It is still better to use PYL and I believe it depends on the setup of your DIP switches. I am going to try some combinations and if I get the right one I will let you know Thanks very much
