Please post the present main (U1) firmware versions. There are two different chipsets involved, and  it's vital to get the right one.

It's also possible that the firmwares are close enough that they will work with each other.

I sow it somewhere in the trend but can't find it now.

Press the up or down arrow buttons on the inverter until the top row shows "U1", then reply with the numbers on the middle and bottom row. My inverter shows:

U1

61

You may be thinking of this thread:

But you don't need to open your inverter to find the chipset; just posting the main (U1) firmware versions tells me the chipset anyway.

Old inverter:

U2 12 13

U3 00 00

New inverter

U1 69 07

That firmware is quite old; Sep 2021. '2809 chipset. Normal firmwares for this model are 45.xx. They don't seem to have used that processor in this model lately, since the latest in this series is 45.62, Nov 2022.

September 2023. '28066 chipset. So you can't have the exact same firmware in both. The closest in hex file date stamp is 69.62 from Dec 2022, 11 months earlier. But the fact that the minor version number (62) is the same for both is a good indication that they will be compatible.

So my suggestion is to update 90.28 to 45.62, and to downgrade 69.07 to 69.62. These should be compatible. If you are irritated by a lack of features or introduction of bugs in 69.62, you could try going back to 69.07, or even to the latest 69.70 (Mar 2024), and I don't expect any compatibility issues, though it is possible.

I suggest updating the one display that is at 12.13 to 12.21, which is from the same era (Aug 2022).

I have to rush off; post if you have trouble finding these firmwares. I find that once you know the exact firmware version that you need, it's easy enough to find with a Google search (use the term "Axpert firmware" and the version e.g. "69.62".

Edit: I have a little more time now. I see that 69.62 is no longer available easily, so I'll attach it here.

This is factory main firmware version 69.62 for the Axpert Max E 7.2 kW '28066, and also for a split-phase model whose MPPSolar name is PIP-6548 LV. Do not use with other models. Hex file is dated Dec 2022, not the latest version; use only for paralleling with older models. Use at your own risk.

Edit 2: I see that the same problem exists for 45.62.

Note for split phase readers (North American users only): When run in split phase hardware, the version number will likely not be the same as when run in single phase models. I don't have time at present to look up the numbers, sorry.

Edit 3:  Display firmware version 12.21 is available here.

Hi, hope you are well.

I am back so; I must check if the cable I bout is the correct one.

Then I can update like you said here?

Certainly you need a good USB to RS-232 adapter to perform firmware updates, unless it's only a main firmware update, then you could  try the USB on-the-go cable method. To check the adapter, make sure that Watchpower runs through it. Make sure that you exit Watchpower properly (don't just close the window) before updating via RS-232.

Sorry, I don't use Watchpower. I can't think what it does with the email address, unless it's you send you an alert or similar.

It got the same improvements like my 8KW version except the Shade Management.

Mppt minimum voltage is set to 120V (the new range is 120V to 450V)

Firmware shows up as  90.20

No, it's "live" on this firmware.

P.s. sorry for the very late reply, a whole month after you posted. I've been really busy on another project.

Sorry for the extremely late reply.

I don't seem to have any 7.2kW patched firmwares that defeat fault code 90.

If you are still interested, please PM me with what minimum MPPT voltage you want, and I'll see what I can do.

Hello Guys, i have a 7.2KW inverter , Frimware version U1 - 45.07, can you help me with a firmware solving the problem of 90V ? I think ideal would be for 180 - 200 V .

Sorry i checked better the forum, can somebody confirm to me that i can flash the 245.11 over the 45.07, to fix the 90v issue ?

And another small question should i update also the display, or leave it as it is ?

Thank you for your help

Yes, that's the only 7.2kW patched firmware in the x45.xx series. Unfortunately, it's a bit old now, so it's a fixed 120 V minimum MPPT voltage, which may not be ideal.

There is no need to update the display firmware for this issue.
