October 13, 20223 yr HI I am setting up a 8KW Deye Inverter with 2 Hubble AM2 5kWh Batteries What is the correct cable size needed to safely run this and if you can suggest the correct fuse and disconnector size i will greatly appreciate this.
October 14, 20223 yr Hi, Minimum size for battery wiring is 25mm². You can get them from welding supply outlets inclusive the corresponding lugs. Do those battery packs not have built in breakers? I wired 125A high disconnect capable fuses in the line to the inverter. Available at good electric suppliers such as Voltex.
October 14, 20223 yr The manual says min 50mm2, and 190A input. So I would go with a 200A fuse/disconnect, unless you want to externally limit your inverter to half the rated power. (Also, note that if you go with 50mm2 wire, it must be suitably rated high temperature wire. If you go with normal PVC, then you need 70mm2 wire.)
