On the Aux setting s, if not on fen, then it opens up a whole new range of settings. I still learn of new ways to apply settings after a year of having it. So multi-dimensional for such an inverter. 

 

Also... Battery keeps the inverter on when not in grid tied solution, allowing to to deliver power on Aux. 

Can't say much for the firmware on Aux changes, but I know there are some changes on allowed Isc and VOC allowances on the pa els that they catered for. Trims over current and and voltages better.

I think that you are probably correct, I assume that it would depend on the settings you use. I don't use the Aux port at all so have no experience with it.

So the answer seems to be to connect it to the Aux, set up as a mom-essential output, and then have the 5k Sunsynk grid tied with the CT on so as to stop back feeding to the 8k and then set the disconnects on the 8K to disconnect the inverter ay whatever soc you prefer.

The more I think about it, I might consider using the 5kva grid tied and let it feed from eskom to reduce power consumption through solar and then just save up for a batt. will use the CT in a manner to stop feedback to grid on 8kva as the distance is too much between properties - exceeding the 20m limit for CT

Would it be correct to assume during the peak hours of the day this inverter will have to generate at about 12kw to produce 70kWh per day?

I'd guess there's probably a misunderstanding that crept in.

That being said, if you max out the 10400W of PV panels you can connect to this inverter, and you're charging a battery bank straight to DC at mid-day, at the height of summer when the effective daily solar hours could be around 7hrs, then 70kWh could be plausible.

Except, there are no batteries connected here.

He is back feeding @ 8kw into the local grid for his housing complex for most of the day :-). No batteries but the inverter gets to work flat out the whole time, pretty insane the amount of power he is producing.

Thanks for the post. I have to say I fell out of the bus. Some posts were around a 5kw Sunsynk and I missed the 8kw value you posted.

It was the best day in Oct so a bit higher than the mean for say the whole month. Still a great free lunch from the sun.

Great picture to see how a grid tied just caps the output when over speced with panels.

If you are going to use the Aux port as an input port you are going to need to run another cable from the 8kw essential load to the 2nd residence as I don't think the cable can be input and output.  Not sure  You will also be limited to 3.5-4kw input from your grid-tie.

Other option is to feed your 5kw from the essential load side of the 8kw. Connect your 8kw to Home Assistant and using a smart switch you can "load shed" the 2nd residence when conditions dictate i.e. low solar production, Battery SOC, Time of Day etc using automations in Home Assistant.

Can't pop two out of Synk 50hz simewaves back to the same load? Just a thought. Hence the parralel config from SS that is needed with master and slave to Synk.

So my thinking is, if the 5kw grid is connected to the load side of the 8kw and the 5kw is working in grid-tied mode it would is sync with the 8kw sinewave.

The 8kw would either be running either sync'd with the grid when their is grid power or generating it's own 50hz frequency when it is running in island mode either way the 5kw will sync with whatever the 8kw is doing. 

I don't think that the Sunsynks can run in island mode without a battery. 

Parallel mode is to keep the inverters in sync when they are running in island mode generating their own frequency, the master generates the 50hz frequency and the slave syncs with it. When they are connected to the grid they will sync with the grid frequency.

Hi all,

 

Some feedback on the setup. As depicted in the diagram and the hypothesis - the setup is working. The CT coil installed although the setup is done with ONLY the LOAD to power the home office. In the home office the DB is connected to the LOAD and all appliances working from there. The CT coil installed although there is no need as there is no measure for power to feed back on the GRID (coming from Aux on 8kVA). The setup serves the purpose and works as a "grid tied" solution.

 

Will share settings and a video of the setup, all the settings and how it works soon.
