@Scorp007 I stand to be corrected but in my case the cycle count is something that after 1 1/2 years of use I'm still trying to figure it out  I have a LBSA 5.1 KW/H battery that has the most stupid cycle count, I know the battery is equipped with a Seplos BMS and all the info on the dashboards attached  (1 week ) are retrieved from the BMS so one can say they are 100% accurate, only twice in the last 7 days the battery has been bellow 20% yet it counted 10 Cycles.

It's a bit tricky I think

Not all 'cycles' are equal, the curve is non-linear w.r.t. DoD and discharge rate

I suspect most manufacturers just use the energy=1 full discharge of battery method because it is the simplest to understand and measure/track

e.g. 3000 cycles @ 80% DoD != 6000 cycles @ 40% DoD

Yes we both on the money. What I placed is from Apple. Each BMS have their own criteria. Another example I saw recently is where the total Ah discharged was taken and divided by the battery capacity and from that the cycle count is generated. 

We have also seen one of our local companies advance 1 cycle the moment the SOC drops below 50%. This to me is not a cycle.

As far as I know is that Seplos cycle count comes with a default value at 20%. So, every time DOD drops below 80% counts one cycle. That can be changed but I don't want to do it because of warranty issues. I know of members that have changed to 90%.

If a manufacturer rates a battery at 1C it should be able to do however many cycles they guarantee at that 1C rate . This is why you will sometimes see a shorter warranty/less cycles guaranteed than that of a 0,5C battery. Higher C rate discharging/charging means more heat which means less cycle life .
