Got a request to inspect an installation. The client was concerned about his installation & it's yet to be commissioned. Here is what was found:

8kW Deye with 2.5mm2 AC for Grid & Load. Greendeer 5.1kW X 2 with a cable plugged in & inverter on Voltage settings. Installer stressed Comms are working. No Earth Neutral relay. 545W Canadian Solar PV modules promised. ECCO cheap crap says 400W but my guess is it's barely 200W. 10 of them. He is getting 2kW peaks. Batteries connecting into the inverter are 25mm2 & 100A fuse holder with 125A fuses inside. 16A AC isolator used as a PV DC isolator.

When asked to show up nowhere to be found. What a mess!!! Beware community. These are a list of non compliant items & somewhat criminal behaviour.

The market is so ripe at the moment, why steal to make money. Let's put this into context:

The Deye & Sunsynk call for 10mm2 AC cable because the machine is 63A rated. This particular guy is a qualified electrician. The roof has the most interesting Earthing I have seen.

I'm still shocked, but somewhat this is becoming the norm. Please don't let this happen to you or anyone in this community.

Wait till you zoom in on that Battery connections!

That looks like a side cutter crimp!

The days of remaining ignorant regarding any kind of work requiring a specialists are over.  We all require at least to know the basics iot avoid being ripped off.  I think that's where the forum is making a difference.  I look back at the COC that was issued to me when I bought my house and wish I knew what I know now thanks to the contributors of this forum.  Lots of scrupulous guys out there.  Shout out to the guys who still have pride in their trade.
