June 19, 20233 yr Good evening everyone, Thank you for all the information and ideas shared on this forum. It has helped me to select a solar system for my house. An approved Sunsynk installer installed the following system today: 8kW Sunsynk Inverter 2 x 5kW Sunsynk Batteries 8 x 545W Panels (more will be added as funds become available) The system has been running for about 4 hours now. We had loadshedding for 5 minutes only tonight. Needless to say my lights stayed on:)!! The system is setup for essential and non-essential load. Oven and geyser is the only non-essential items. A question that I have is that the installer did not connect a Grid feed to the Inverter? Is that correct?
June 19, 20233 yr That does not sound right. Except if your location is actually off the grid, you should have a grid input connected.

June 20, 20233 yr No AC On indication on Inverter panel? Maybe Grid feed CB not switched on? Open inverter front cover (4 screws) and look if wiring is connected to Grid supply. From the left - Grid - Aux - Load

June 20, 20233 yr Highly doubt this is the case, as @VirWat mentioned, is there the AC light illuminated on the inverter? You are probably confusing the fact that the inverter is Bi-Directional, so the grid input supplies non-essential as well.
