Sunsynk 8kW Installation - Grid Connection

Featured Replies

Good evening everyone,

Thank you for all the information and ideas shared on this forum.  It has helped me to select a solar system for my house.  An approved Sunsynk installer installed the following system today:

8kW Sunsynk Inverter

2 x 5kW Sunsynk Batteries

8 x 545W Panels (more will be added as funds become available)

The system has been running for about 4 hours now.  We had loadshedding for 5 minutes only tonight.  Needless to say my lights stayed on:)!!

The system is setup for essential and non-essential load.  Oven and geyser is the only non-essential items.

A question that I have is that the installer did not connect a Grid feed to the Inverter?  Is that correct?

That’s not correct. How would you charge the batteries from the grid if you need to.

No AC On indication on Inverter panel?

Maybe Grid feed CB not switched on?

Open inverter front cover (4 screws) and look if wiring is connected to Grid supply. From the left - Grid - Aux - Load

If this was done correctly, you MUST be connected to the grid.

Check your inverter screen where it shows power coming in/ out etc.

Highly  doubt this is the case, as @VirWat mentioned, is there the AC light illuminated on the inverter? You are probably confusing the fact that the inverter is Bi-Directional, so the grid input supplies non-essential as well.
