A large enough load change will still trip the meter. It also comes at the cost of an additional 2kWh per day to run that 150W lamp.

February 14, 20206 yr Adding a battery to the Goodwe won't stop the tripping. I am about 85% certain of that, even though I am not familiar with that inverter. The only solution that will work, and again I'm about 90% sure, is an energy diverter. This is a device that measures the power and diverts energy into a some kind of dump. Most people will divert it into a geyser, although I've done some calculations and found that a 10 liter bucket of water with a kettle element might well be sufficient. All the diverter does is detect the reverse flow of energy, and channels it into the heating element. Given that the amounts of energy we're talking about is maybe 100Wh per day, and that's about what you need to boil a liter of water, I'm fairly confident that a bucket of water will do it. The trouble is finding an affordable energy diverter. Commercial versions have to be imported and cost upwards of 3k. There is a DIY option (the one I linked above), using the arduino platform and code from the OpenEnergy project. A simple and affordable solution (for those without electronic skills) could be made using an eMonTx... but you can't buy one in this country. They are around 60USD (before import costs), and then you still need to rig up the TRIAC for switching.
