Volta Stage one BMS Software

No luck on the Stage 4 software yet - I would appreciate any help. I did a complete siterip of cleverbms.com yet could not find a package there that will talk to the Stage 4.

I updated yet another Volta Stage 1 today - it did not want to do the update the first 2 times I clicked Download but on the 3rd one it did! Success again 😉

The previous update I did it stalled at 76% so I just had to restart it - something I was taught to never ever do with updates - but it too worked in the end. Attached is the tool you will need to do the update.

Please use the BMS Tool beforehand to read the values on the Parameter tab - specifically the RS485 and CAN protocols. Mine stayed the same with the update to 15.52 but it is always a good idea to check.

I wish I knew what I did wrong with my update.... problem now is that I can no longer connect to the BMS in it's current state. Leds on battery still flashing for past week now. It may take another few years for 4 led's to drain a 7kWh battery..... that is the only way I will be able to get the BMS to shut down.. without opening the battery that is...

I do not have the Stage4 firmware, but will see if I can at least communicate with the BMS using the BMS software that work on the others and report back here.

Have you had any reports of the Stage4 having the SOC drift issue as well?

No, the Stage 4 is fine, SOC drift is only on Stage 1 as far as I know. I have had not dropouts on my Stage 4 and since the update it seems the Stage 1 is also behaving.

The only reason I tried to connect to a Stage 4 was because it is all I have here at home and I wanted to test the RJ12 to Serial cable I made.

The Stage 1 I needed to update was 200km away. Thankfully it turned out my cable was good.

7kWh you say - what Volta is that? Stage 1 is 5.12kWh

Never had drift issue on my Stage 4.

Had a Stage 2 and Stage 3 at clients with issues.

Just saw posts on internet about Stage 1 issues.

Stage 2 is 7.69kWh

I have been following some of this - but had an issue with Deye 8kw Inverter 2 weeks back - had the unit FW flashed remotely - but 2 x Volta Stage 1 batteries playing up - the 1 ran down with no threshold kicking in - the other still at 100% - restarted the first which ran down and now SOC stays at 93% and only one runs down. Cannot utilize TOD settings as it useless.

i have the BMS software and cable from supplier but need assistance to flash/upgrade BMS on Voltas….as a newbie to this….is there anyone in Cape Town area that can assist or remotely?

Great to hear. I haven't been able to pay attention to the forum in a while. Did you manged to get the Stage 4 working as well? Suspecting the bigger BMS's to use another software...

Clarify what you would like to do and we will direct you to the correct software.  Genix Green does not develop their own software.

Hi All.

I am tring to change the CAN protacall to SOROTEC using the BMS monitoring system (V6.1), however the Write button stays greyed out.
I can connect to the Volta stage one battery and read its values.

I have a feeling that I require the elusive BMS Tools V2.M.  If so could someone please point me in the right direction to obtain this software?

I have upgraded my firmware using the BMS IPA tool above to VK48100_ZWN_V15.52

Thanks In advance.

Check current firmware and upgrade.Soc keeps givving wrong %

I was also having this issue, dropping 1% every day or two.
Upgrading firmware and changing CAN protocols had no effect.

It suddenly went away when I started playing with my ESS settings.

I might have also restarted the battery simultaneously, though I'm not sure I got that right.

Hope this helps.

Hi,where can I find the Genix green software.

Hi, can you please share the software you used to flash the firmware? I built the cable and can use topbms to talk to the battery. My problem is I'm not getting any battery info on the inverter. Inverter is 8kva Deye and batt is volta stage 1.

Ok, I realised it was the IAP demo software posted a little back. I flashed the battery successfully. Still not talking to the inverter. Can someone post their settings with the deye inverters, also dip switch settings as well please. The clever bms shows that the can protocol is pylontech, I can't change anything as the write button is grayed out.

Lol... realised I needed the password for the bms tool. Myne was not "green1234" instead it was "AF123456". I changed protocols and tried restoring defaults etc, still no BMS info on the inverter. I did shutdown the battery between settings changes.

I am struggling with connecting Taico battery 10,24kWh with Voltronic /infinisolar hybridinverter. I saw on one picture from Rouxenator the BMS_tool-v2.m, I got only 2.b. It seems this might be a solution. Is there anyway to get this version, I already contacted Esener but the contact page doesn't work. Any help would be welcome.

So

I got advice from suplier to set inverter to agm and adjust charging to 57.6v so it can balance.

after 1 hour SOC jumps to 100% SOC but SOH gets derated to 92% also cyles jumps from 144 to 155

What inverter are you sing. Make & model?

Hi All, if anyone has it working with a deye 8kw can you post the pinouts of your can cable? I've no made many iterations of this cable and none works, from a normal straight through, to just the middle pins and middle pins swopped on one end etc... the li bms on the deye doesn't pick up the battery in the list. Lithium mode is set to 00 on the deye. Any help will be appreciated.

Volta Stage 1 here. BMS Monitoring connected fine, so I saved all my settings. The first firmware updating tool I tried would only display in Chinese, so I tried the IAP one. Address it presented was 0x4000, which I I tried. Returned an error message about incorrect location, next pass returned a comms error, and I ended up with the one red LED and rolling green LEDs mentioned. Battery has taken itself offline, so it's clearly unhappy. Any suggestions on recovery, please?

Hi,

Retry flashing with the IAP and the firmware file on here. Post if you need assistance. On my first flash attempt I had a similiar scenario, I just refreshed and it was sorted. However still don't have the li bms working.

Thanks. I have on several occasions. The RS232 is not responding to IAP or even permitting monitoring using PBMS Tools. It's been a week since I last tried, though, so let's see what happens if I try now.

Edited to add: No change.

Hi everyone. Apologies if I missed something in here that could answer.

I'm interested in looking at my BMS info, 2 x Volta Stage 1s. I'm not planning on changing anything like firmware, just want to peek inside and see what's happening. Can anyone confirm whether or not this cable will work please?

https://solar-assistant.io/shop/products/pace_rs232

Is there any chance of breaking anything by plugging it into a laptop and seeing what happens?

Thanks
