Sunsynk vs Solarman app

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a sunsynk 5kw with the datalogger. I currently use the sunsynk app but keep hearing about solarman.

Is one better than the other and is it possible to run the two apps together? (or can the datalogger only be bound to one app)

At the moment my biggest gripe with the sunsynk app is the data refresh interval and I can't change it (only have unbind as an option). I spoke to the installer and he said he would have to recreate the plant on Region 2 (or something) and to be honest, i never followed up.

So thought I would investigate other options but only after speaking to the gurus here

Thanks

To be honest stick with Sunsynk. It allows you to change setting and the interface is much nicer.

I have a Deye inverter and had to use the Solarman app. The update frequency is 5 minutes but can apparently be set lower to 1 minute. Not that I could find the settings for it. I eventually bought a SolarAssistant kit which works extremely well. The update frequency is essentially live (2-5s).

To use the Solarman integration you would also have to buy a Solarman dongle.

Hey guys...

Complete the form on this site - they will amend your user access level to Advanced User - it will then give you the option to update the refresh rate to 60sec which will be able to do via the website under Equipment > Gateway > ellipses on the logger > Settings and then it will give this - see pic . Takes a few hours for them to action - you also won't know as I didnt get a notification but I just signed into the site the next day and had the option.

Thanks,

I have filled in the form as suggested. Will have a look at solar-assistant but other than the refresh rate, I am pretty happy with the sunsynk app. At least I can change the timers on the app and don't have to be in front of the inverter

Appreciate the feedback

So I got the mail back from Sunsynk. Now an advanced user. I was able to change the data interval to 60s.

Only issue i now have is the webpage still doesn't refresh any quicker (still 300s and it does it automatically).

The app on the phone doesn't refresh automatically as far as I know (have to manually refresh)

Anything I am missing?

Run an auto refresh extention on your browser set to 60s. I use easy auto refresh by ksoft.

Does anyone have a solution to this weird problem? We have a SOLARMAN app running for a few years without any issues. Now it reports the daily energy use, but the curves disappear the next day. So only shows the current day curves.

the data is being collected and stored and I can download it to Excel.

But we can’t see the history on the main page.

we have tried everything. Deleting the account, reloading. Etc.

the other 250 SOLARMAN apps work fine.

In desperation, about to change to Sunsynk dongles and app for this client.

That's the only thing missing! Fortunately SunSynk sorted out the Disconnect and Connected notifications for Grid, so that helps.
