August 20, 20232 yr I accidentally lost power to my raspberry pi and since then it seems to be randomly disconnecting from my WiFi, and not being able to connect via Bluetooth either, forcing yet another power cycle. Any suggestions on log retrievals and review etc. to try figure out what's going on? [Pi is right next to an AP, and all other clients still connected].
August 20, 20232 yr Been experiencing the same for the past 24hrs. I have powered the device off/on, but it seems to either loose its connection or load the info extremely slowly (eventually timing out in most cases). Edited August 20, 20232 yr by BenS
August 21, 20232 yr There's a hacky hack somewhere on the forum here on how to enable SSH access to get into it When mine started doing the same it was due to the SD Card being on it's way out. Backup the DB,format and reload and see?
August 24, 20232 yr I had similar issues. First time it was an SD card dying, second time was the original Raspberry Pi power adapter that was on it's way out.
August 24, 20232 yr Author For the record, I figured out my battery charger had died and the stand alone battery went undervoltage for the 9-60V DC USB power supply I was using - measured 11.5V unloaded... Interestingly enough, the RasPi still powered up though, but couldn't handle the second USB port. Currently running on an old AC RasPI power supply again and all appears stable for the last few days. Also signed up for the Beta version of Solar Assistant now so have backups for future issues.
September 5, 20232 yr My setup is Kodak OGC 5.6 KVA all in on off grid inverter - All running fine using Watch power so it included a wifi module . I was then advised to buy Solar Assistant which was done ( software only ) . Downloaded , created image on SD card . Booted up , set up wifi credentials so all going well at that stage and could connect viw the web browser and see the PI running Solar Assistant BUT no data . Connected a mini USB cable into the bottom of the inverter with the Other end into USB port on the Rpi4 . Rebooted but still no data . Any clues / help would be appreciated . Thanks
March 8, 20251 yr I have been having a similar issue with Solar assistant and connection with my Sunsynk Lifelynk inverter/battery system. after many days i have found... When the system switches over to change the solar batteries (cheap rate at night) the USB to RS232 cable which connects the Ras Pi to the Wifi RS232 in the lifelynk unit disconnects. and will not reestablish the connection.upon investigating my USB / RS232 (d9) cable i see the cable has NO Shielding/screening, So out comes the soldering iron and clippers,Found and unused USB cable (Old USB printer / Data cable) cut the end off and solder the RS232 (which has the CH341 controller chip embedded) onto it) to the USB Cable, Plugged in and tested. WOW..... set up a charge cycle on the inverter and it remains online (No disconnection)so far i would say this is resolved for me!!!
