August 4, 201511 yr Author How does it sense this? No idea, and I couldn't find anything in the manual, it just did it. I have never seen that happen before so I don't think it can be coincidence.
August 14, 201511 yr Back to the topic... Yesterday I've grouped my 6.8V zeners. I've applied a technique published by Vishay to measure the voltage drop across each zener. I've connected one diode at a time in series with a 3.9 ohm resister and applied a constant current of 100mA for 30 seconds. The voltage across the diode was measured after 30 seconds and similar diodes were grouped together. As you can see these diodes with a 5% tolerance differ quite a bit.
