November 8, 20232 yr As I mentioned on another topic I need the installation to be checked by someone reputable. I have started the ball rolling.

On my system (2x Axpert MKS 5K) I notice a very short flicker of the lights. The battery flash light in emergency light mode makes an instant short flash.

So its not load shedding Sounds to me that your issue is not due to the inverter switching to UPS mode then! The place I would start to fault find is in the controller itself. What is blowing? That will hopefully point to the cause. I set up a air mattress for a quadraplegic with a controller which was to mitigate pressure sores from developing. I was not impressed by the quality of the equipment, especially for the cost of it.

I would also think the supplier might by ducking and diving but all must be investigated.

I have a Mecer Inverter Model ME-2000-VU . Output is 2000W. I connected it up and plugged a fan into it. It works 100%. Of course I realize that the batteries of the inverter are completely dead and that it does not provide output power when the input power is switched off. I confirmed it by doing just that. Neither the bed or air mattress have any indication of the watts but I am certain it does not exceed 2000W As I have solar the UPS portion does not affect me at all, and even if it did, its not serious at all and can live with it. My question is will this prevent any surges that may occur? Even a "spike" should the power be switched on and off at the substation. I have arranged for a specialist recommended by The Sunpays to inspect the system and to install surge protectors as posted by TaliaB at 11H01 on 2023/11/08. Guys, you are a real life saver

Guys, you are a real life saver I would not use the Mecer as it is a modified/simulated sine inverter which is not suited for the air compressor I guess. It is not a double conversion as per TaliaB and surges will still go through even if connected to your other main inverter. Thus not worth buying batteries to try to use it.
