November 22, 20232 yr Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while, learning quite a bit here. I have a question. I've got a CBI Astute Smart Controller, and I'm very happy with it. I want to recommend it to friends of mine, but my issue (from what I can see) is that it can only be paired to one cellphone at a time, and for them, they need access from more than one cellphone. I've tried both the CBI and SmartLife app, and can't pair it more than once. Is there a way around it? Or should I look at a different device, like the Sonoff POWR320D? THX a mil!
November 22, 20232 yr Open the cbi astute app, click the item in question, top right click the edit button, and press "share device". They can make separate accounts to log in for each cellphone and share it accordingly.

You can have the App on more than 1 phone and control the CBI from any of the phones.You only pair the CBI once and use the account for all your devices. We use 3 devices.

I think something is missed here. The CBI or Sonoff is paired to a router so that it can "talk" to it's server. The cell uses a APP to connect to this server that would control the smart device which is paired to the router at home. If it is paired to a phone the APP will only work if you(cell phone) is in range of the smart device. Once the APP is working then as per other replies.

You can install the App on multiple devices and all will be able to control the switch. It is not pair to a phone, you only do that for the initial setting up so that it can connect to your home wifi. Once configured, you are set to control and monitor via the App, where ever you are, as long as you have internet.

May 21, 20242 yr Hi there i have a cbi astute device for a geyser at a flat i own in another city. My electrician setup the device and used his phone to setup the geyser as i am not based there. He shared the device with me on my cbi app. however when he deleted the app off his phone (as he doesnt need it) it deleted the device off my app and the geyser stopped working. He re setup the app now but how can he transfer the ownership and admin of the geyser to my app so he can delete it off his?

By sharing you just have permission to control functions as he had on his profile. This is how I see it. Your APP on your phone just talked via his account. By him removing the CBI from his phone affects the "children" to whom he shared. You will have to re-pair it on your phone and account to get it to be able to operate.
