Sunsynk Inverter Temperature Readings

Featured Replies

I am getting confused regarding what operating temperatures my Inverters should be at.

I am running sun5kva hybrid inverter which is documented to operate 40~60 ºC, >45 ºC Derating. this is from the Datasheet.

Now when you look at the inverter readings there is two temp readings. DC and AC. which one should be kept at 40-60Deg?

I see the AC temp is regulated and inverter internal fans kick in when this goes over 60deg.

However the DC temp goes over 75deg. can someone advice which is important and should be within 40-60Deg?

attached picture of the temp readings.

please share what you have in mind. I am seeing alot of people go that route.

I logged a support query with sunsynk and they advised both should be 40-60deg. ill start with PC fans and see how that goes.

@madness_za, update on this. I put 6x computer fans to help cool the inverter. The results are amazing. I get 20% more efficiency and the inverter is always within the 45-60Deg range

As a matter of interest, how exactly did you measure the 20% more efficiency?

@PowerUser I used historical data.

Measured power output before the fans installed vs power output after the fans. My concern was overheating and deterioration due to high temperatures. this temp reading is before the fans. Max yield from the sun was about 5kW.

After the fans were installed. I am always at 90% efficiency. over 7kW yield. and temperature is within the 45-60deg as per reading taken today.

Forgot to update. I'm using 2 fans and saw a 10 degree drop, which I'm happy with.

That great, I have 2x inverters . 3fans per fan.

Hi Gents ,how do I get the app to display the temperature please ?

Depends on your type of inverter. Reply with the info and the clever ppl here (not me) will assist  😀

Assume you have a sunsynk inverter?

Go to the screen in the picture. Once there select and hold in the enter button for a few seconds until the DC and AC temps show in the Inverter Power block

Not sure what app you are using, if you want help on this you will have to be way more specific (like the app name)

Sorry to hijack this thread

Does anyone know what the AC and DC temperatures really mean? In simple dummies guide terms.

I haven't found any documentation and I'm just a layperson with this stuff.

Highest temperatures I've seen are when the Battery is charging kinda fast for long on a hot day (~64deg). I suppose another way to reduce the temperature would be to reduce battery charge max amps? Sower and cooler.

I have a Sunsynk 8 kw inverter and use the connect app on my iPhone. I can’t seem to find the device temperature reading for AC and DC that some of you have shown via screenshot in this discussion thread. Any idea how I can look it up?
