January 2, 20197 yr Hi, I have recently installed a solar kit and trying to optimize them as per the numerous threads on this forum. Hopefully somebody can help me and confirm if the settings below would match the specs of the solar panels, battery and inverter. I am using ICC on RPi in conjunction with a Voltronic 3kva Inverter running hybrid (On-Grid and Solar) Inverter: Voltronic 3kva Battery: 2 x 12V @ 155Ah AGM VRLA • Capacity C10h, 20˚C, 1,80Vpc: 155Ah • Capacity C8h, 20˚C, 1,75Vpc: 154Ah • Float battery, 20˚C, 2,27Vpc • Cyclic applications: 0.20C10 A / Max. 2.40 V per element at 20˚C; Solar Panels: 4 x 300W Solar Panels ICC settings: 1. Max PV charging current: 20A 2. Max AC charging current: 20A 3. Back to Grid Voltage: 22.0V 4. Back to Discharge Voltage: 27.0V 5. Bulk charging voltage: 28.8V 6. Float charging voltage: 27.2V 7. Battery cut-off voltage: 21.00V 8. Charge source priority: Solar First 9. Output source Priority: SBU 10. Battery Type: User The average utilization is 750Wh during the day, with approx 250W during the night. Battery Control: Both Time and SoC enabled: 11. Use Time for Control: To Solar Hour: 10am To AC: 4pm 12. Use SOC for Control: 70% to Grid 100% to Solar Thank you
January 4, 20197 yr Hi @GeoJoh, Welcome to the Forum...Hopefully most here are still a little in "holiday mode", or busy sorting out New Years Resolutions😁! In the mean time, Please post some more info of your system. E.g. the spec of your PV panels, as well as how you connected them, eg 2S2P or 4S. Full description of your Inverter. Full config of your inverter (you inadvertently posted some of them as "ICC settings". It's a list of about 30 parameters. You can get it from the front panel of you inverter. You should in the mean time, monitor you batteries more carefully. It is possible that they are not fully charged after a night's use, due to too few Watts of PV. The Voltronic SOC's values are rubbish, and you will destroy your batteries. That's why most invest in a BMV with this Voltronics & LRA battery combo. Also, what you can try in the mean time, is to start using EmonCMS (if purchased), then you can graph items, like battery Volts Amps SOC etc, over a longer period, to look at trends. January 4, 20197 yr Hi @GeoJoh welcome to the forum. As said by @Sidewinder, Some more info would be helpful. From what I can gather, you have the 3kVa as stated, and it is the 24V version. Do you know if it is the Plus or not? Panel configuration could also point in the direction of what model. the normal 24V would not handle all 4 panels in one string, but the Plus might, also depending on you panel specs (Voc) From what I see in your post, the batteries would anyway charge at night from Utility once there are no more PV? Your location would also be of value. Some more info would most likely provide more guidance/answers to your questions. R
January 22, 20197 yr Hi- If I may , just need to know on the ICC settings for the Axpert. Can one use both the SOC and time control under the battery setting or should you stick to just the time control (for when the sun fades) and leave the SOC to be managed by the Axpert's settings
