Hello, I have noticed that my Axpert Max 8000 loads power to the grid. According to the seller, I should upgrade firmware to min. 90.11 or newer. Where can I download it?

Err, 90.11 is for 7.2 kW Maxs, and is very old firmware, much older than your 72.03.

The latest firmware for your model is 72.08, although 72.75 is only a little older, and has the "presumed good" MPPT logic (should get stuck at 90 V much less often).

hi Alexisis,

IF we are talking Max II, 8oooW, then the latest firmware is 81.08 and 22.25 for the display.
I have both official versions if you want them.

They also allow to programs 12 & 13 in SOC%.

However the apps do not seem to follow this.
Is there anyone who knows of an App that will allow to change the settings in SOC% instead of Voltage? (Not WatchPower, not Energy-Mate, nor Dessminitor can do it.)

Hi @Kurtbe You can set this via the SolarAssistant solution (this is a monitoring system based on a raspberry pi, solar-assistant.io for details) via custom rules 😉

No firmware can solve the problem of charging the network. Unfortunately, this is a feature of the inverter when a large consumer suddenly stops. SBU mode is the only solution. :(

My understanding is that it will work, but you won't call the calibrate function that is burned into your processor's Read Only Memory, and your readings may be inaccurate as a result. I don't know the consequences of that.

So I don't recommend it, but my guess is that it won't be a disaster.

Going the other way (attempting to use a '28066 firmware on an inverter with a '2809 processor) almost certainly WILL brick the inverter. It will attempt to call a calibrate function in non-existent (or at least unprogrammed) Read Only Memory, and this is very early on before even interrupts are enabled.

That means that the display firmware no longer talks to the main firmware.

What was the main firmware before the update? You might be attempting to use the wrong firmware.

It might also just be a glitch due to the cheap and sometimes slow opto-couplers.

See If You Think Your Inverter is Bricked.

after my post "Axpert Max II, 10kW" I just tried the

"dsp 281.05 Axpert Max II 8kW patched firmware.zip 281.05" on

my device "MAX II 8kW and 28066 processor, round display" with 281.02 firmware

On the USB-stick I renamed MAXII8K 281.05 patched.inv -> mks2.hex

After UPG - YES - the diyplay shows U03 in red letters and the ring changed to red

you seem to know a lot about the voltronic inverters and if you could help me out i would be really grateful
i have a Axpert MAX II TWIN 8KW with firmware version 54.01
i have connected a lithium battery through BMS to the inverter ..

first problem is the WIFI no longer works

second i cant change the settings in the inverter menu on the touch screen ... and the cut off voltage is in V not in percentage and i cannot change it manually

the inverter is stuck in ad5 and cant be changed

i was thinking of upgrading the firmware ... but not sure after reading the posts here i am confused
there r multiple firmware versions? different firmwares for the CPU and the touch screen?

is there anywhere a video i can use to follow for that or a step by step guide?

i work with computers and know my way around ... but the inverters is a first for me .. so don't want to brick it
any help is appreciated

If you use the BMS cable for your battery, the inverter battery settings are set by the battery BMS only. If you want to set it manually, you have to disconnect the BMS cable between your inverter and the battery.

they are different firmware for the inverter and the touchscreen, depending on your model of inverter. But based on your issue, the firmware upgrade is not necessary.

hello and thanks for the quick reply

the cable is connected the 3 green lights of the wifi are on and the BMS is working correctly and communicating with the inverter.

i will attach images .

the problem is and what i found online.... is that the inverter uses the same module for bms and wifi... so only one of them can be active at a time

but even if i disconnect the bms and power cycle i can't access the menu and the inverter is stuck at the bms mode ED5 ... cant change Cut off voltage (should be percentage i think) it is stuck at 48v ... and the batteries are being completly drained ...

i have contacted the BAttery Supplier (Batteries are Dyness 14.33kw) and he said the switch from battery to utility should be done at the inverter level not the battery/bms level

the batteries are connected corretly and the DIP is 0100 on master and 0000 on slave

the inverter firmware i have is 54.01 ...

I am willing to help, but if I read correctly this is about an Axpert MAX II TWIN 8KW, I own a Axpert MAX II (not twin) 8kW, so I guess I am of little use to you...

That's "Ads" (equalisation Activation DiSabled). It's because you're not declaring a flooded battery; equalisation only makes sense for flooded batteries. So just ignore settings 30-36.

Yes, it's confusing. Yes, there are different firmwares for the main (U1, DSP) firmware and the display (U2) firmware. There is also different firmware for the touch and button removable displays, as well as the colour versus removable displays. The ability to set three settings in SoC% depends on both the main and display firmwares.

The latest 54.xx firmware I know of is 54.06, available here.

For the display firmware, I'm guessing it's 22.xx, but please post your present display (U2) firmware version to be sure. Updating both will likely fix most of your problems.

Edit: Oops; I assumed that the latest 54.06 firmware would support the QDOP command, but in fact on checking just now, it does not. To get that to work, you will need an even later firmware; ask whoever sold you your inverter. Sorry for the false hope.

22.25 for the display and 81.08 for the inverter (So nothing like the 54.xx that you need.). Therefor this software is not applicable to your system.

hey thanks for getting back to me ,

i already updated the firmware to 54.06 and the MCU to 22.21.
but as you said earlier the SOC % option was not available

can i use a different firware like the 72.xx or 82.xx to solve this?
also note i found somewhere a firmware version 54.63?! .. is this ok to use?

i tried contacting voltronic through there Contact us page ... but i do not get any replies.

the company that sold me the inverter is long gone ... so that is a dead end for me.

I assume you meant 81.xx. No, both of those are for the '28066 DSP, and yours is a '2809. They would cause instant bricking.

Unfortunately, the 8 kW models don't seem to get a lot of firmware updates.

It's OK to use, but it's a few months older than 54.06, and also doesn't have the required command support. The .6x and higher are "experimental" versions to fix a specific issue, which often does not find its way back to the "production" versions (.0x, .1x etc).

That's probably because you forgot to mention how many units per month you want to buy. Voltronic doesn't deal with customers, except if absolutely necessary and then only via resellers.
