April 8, 20242 yr Hi gents I have bought a second hand Apert 5kVA to use as a single phase emergency charger for my 3 Phase Sunsynk system. I have no output connected on the Axpert and no Solar Panels. If I configure the Utility Charge Amps any more than 30A, the unit runs for a few minutes and then result in Error 51, a pain because it isn't self resetting. I read a bunch of old posts with varying answers from blown caps and components to overheating and earth issues. The fact that it runs longer when configured for lower Amps makes me think overheating, any ideas?

I have fixed quite a few inverters in my time but is am not an expert in this field by all means. Maybe @Coulomb or @BritishRacingGreen can comment what the problem could be. It may be the controll card it may be the 400v side of the dc-dc bridge capacitor C73 or C74 if i remember correctly. I know error 51 if persist can end up with a load bang. I would get someone skilled to have a look at it before more damage occurs. The likes of @Vissie or @BritishRacingGreen comes to mind.

I can only point to the 4 mentions of fault code 51 in the Repairs and Hardware Modifications topic's index.
