Inverter

Featured Replies

Good day, I want to get an inverter system for my house. But I am not sure how to go about looking for what hardware I need. There are so many brands out there for both inverters and batteries. I recently got talking to a guy about this stuff and he recommended Lumo batteries and a Sunsynk inverter, we didnt really have much time to chat but we never got to the size of the system I should maybe get or how many panels. I told him i just want to power the essentials in the house, so like gate motor, fridge, tv, geyser and a few lights i think should be enough. Does anyone have suggestions for me?

For small household with average to low consumption then I truly believe nothing beats the 5.5k sunsynk/deye/solis with at least 8 500watt+ solar panels.
For larger consumption look at the 8k versions of the same brands.
Running mine now for over 4 years without any issues and saving a ton of cash. Run ALL my loads off solar and only have eskom as backup.
As for batteries, in my opinion go for what your budget allows on the lifepo4 type batteries, for maximum savings aim for a 10kWh system.
Pay back time for a system like this is less than 7 years with the cash you will save from reducing eskom :)
