Does anyone know how to set up the Solis s6 6kw Inverter to be able to NOT pull power from the grid if battery is say above a certain percentage SoC e.g. 80%+ so that as we get towards the evening, if I have 100w Solar, but my load is 500w, the inverter will pull the deficit from the battery and not from the grid? This low Pv instance can also occur when there's a cloud passing overhead resulting in low Pv generation and I have seen the inverter then pulling power from the Grid.

For me these "parasitic grid usages" outside of my normal grid time charge of 00:00-0600hrs adds up over time. I would want inverter to NOT PULL AT ALL from the grid during the day.

This is what my settings are. I also only have one charging slot as per attached screenshot.

There will always be some parasitic usage from the grid, unless you toggle the inverter into off grid mode.

Best is to set automations. I have mine almost 99% in of grid mode, only exception is if my batteries get to 30% during long rain periods, then it will switch over to self use.

Will the “off grid mode” still allow charging from the grid if battery goes below set point like 30% if I have incremental weather like overcast days during this rainy season?

1. The 50w~ you are seeing is to run the inverter. I have noticed the same behavior.

2. Off grid mode will not allow it to charge from the grid, however, I have not tested this with the force charge setting. The solis also has a RC force charge setting.

3. Allow grid to charge switch, is just toballow the grid to charge the battery, this should actually be turned off for a self use system. It's safer to use reserve battery mode to make sure there is X amount of battery left for outages, until the next day for solar to charge.

On the last point, allowing grid to charge, would mean the grid would charge it when it reaches the force charge %

Also, the 30% reserve mode you set, just means your battery will not be used whilst the grid is available, and will not charge it from the grid. If there is an outage, and grid returns, and battery is under 30%, it will just charge it to 30%.
