Good morning everyone.

I am a little bit desperate here.

Just over a year ago i had my solar system upgraded and added 4 more US3000C batteries to my system.

Sadly, the person that did the install is no longer with us, and they never got around to configure my LVHub correctly.

I now have:

3x US2000 - 5 years old
3x US2000 Plus - 3 years old
4x US3000C - 1year old
1x LV Hub
1x VenusGX
(rest of the system is Victron Charge controllers and Victron inverters)

The installer has tried on numerous occasions to come through and configure it ever since, but unfortunately to no avail, and i am worried cause after the latest visit i am receiving errors on my system which i have not before. I am also worried that these errors could be serious.

I am desperately looking for someone to please assist us.

Just some feedback.

I had a look at my battery stack and saw that one of the pylons was swollen. I spent the day disconnecting and re-arranging, and removing the swollen unit.

After i hooked it all back and did the startup procedure the LV Hub detected the two banks correctly and i no longer have any errors.

Seems like one faulty unit in a bank really messes with the LV Hub.

.. also .. side note ... the reason i never saw the errors, is cause the hub never recognized the one bank with the faulty battery, so the errors never propagated through to VenuGX device.

Lets hope it stays like that... I am running open loop. since the inverter would panic and switch off, when one cell goes over voltage at the top end of the charging cycle in closed loop. Now no issues...

I assume in your setup the BMS determines the charge voltage etc?

On my system charge voltages/current is configured on my VenusGX, i assumes that just gets offlloaded to LVHub and it then offloads to masters etc.

But dont take my word for it, i are noob :)

Hardly, but ok, on my side, running open ended, the voltages are set on the MPPTs, since there is no charging from the inverters... if I run closed loop the the battery aggregator on the Venus on a Raspberry Pi, would be the responsible party for bulk Voltage etc.

I'm not sure why you have a hub in there, you don't need it.

Also probably worth updating the firmware in the US3000C's as that will reduce the max charge voltage requested from 53.2v to 52.8v.

I wish there was an expert on this forum that could assist with these things.
I used a very reputable installer, previously from these forums, but unfortunately, as mentioned, he is no longer with us.

Its kinda a mess. 3 of my old US2000's started swelling, so i need to replace them with new US3000's, but i do not know who to ask to assist with installation/configuration.

It's also for future expansion, so that i can easilly add more batteries throughout the years.
My plan is to spot a bargain once a year and add a few extra batteries :)

You can have 16 batteries without a hub.

I would remove the bad batteries, remove the hub. Connecting the new batteries is pretty simple then. It's worth looking atvthe logs of the old batteries to see what voltages they have been up to.

Apparently the old standard US2000's do not work with US3000c's ... the 2000 Plus does however, that was the initial reason for getting the hub.

All three standard US2000's has now been removed. (funny that just those 3 has swollen)

I can just vaguely remember that previously when i added the batteries, i had to use VE_Configure to update the charge/discharge amps / voltage, .. for the life of me not sure if i need to adjust these now :(

I am seriously considering just selling all pylontech batteries and look for more reliable batteries. I cant deal with the constant stress of losing more batteries.

The old US2000's should have worked fine with the US3000C's, you just have to make sure you put them in positions 2 to 8.

Pylontech are reliable batteries, most problems come from charging at too high voltage most often caused by poor inverter control. Victron did start to limit their max charge voltage in the firmware from the 53.2v to 52.5v.

Did you keep you Victron system updated and did you initially just run it with the US2000's alone?

Pylontech now reduce the max charge requested from 53.2v to 52.8v in their battery firmware.

Using CAN communication should update values automatically in your Victron system. I would ditch the LVhub and just connect the master battery directly to the Victron. Should you keep with Pylontech and expand beyond 16 batteries you could then put it back in.

Download the manual for the US5000 batteries and it will show you what order to place them in. I would think you shouldn't need a hub

meu inversor é deye 12 kw monofasico e tenho solarassistant

se fosse possivel aproveitar as baterias todoas seria optimo

Read the manual (US2000C or US5000) for the order to put them in- it's all in their.
