Watchpower with axpert 5kw inverter

Featured Replies

Hi all

Not sure if this is in the right place, but i cannot get Watchpower to do datalogging. It does connect to the inverter, and i can change all the settings using the software, but no event logging or generation/usage stats are being generated.

I’m connecting via the USB cable supplied with the inverter as i do not have a serial port on my spare laptop

Any advice on what it can be?

11May2019 -

I have a Axpert King 5Kw 2019 and WatchPower 1.13 , win10 and USB cable and had the same problem and wasn't very impressed with the software either way. Seems very basic a quite feeble.  Emailing Voltronic is a futile exercise. It seems all serial numbers in the world was in my list except for mine?

Eventually I watched a YouTube video that said to Install MPPtracker software as well as WatchPower...https://www.power-software-download.com/MPPTracker.html

BUT

2. It still didn't work until I opened the WatchPower shortcut with right click - "Run as administrator". It worked for the first time ever. 🙂

You can also do the following on the shortcut for a permanent solution. Right click, Properties, Shortcut TAB, Advanced, click Run as administrator

So whether MPPtracker is still needed I'm not sure, but run as administrator was definitely needed .

Also both WatchPower and MPPtracker shortcuts will open the same program, sometimes WatchPower sometimes MPPtracker. Restarting the pc seems to bring some sense back.

Hope that helps and let us know.

😞 Stupid Chinese programmers 😞

Hi

I recently bought a Axpert King 5kVA inverter (in fact, I have two 5kVAs connected to each other which manages my solar system.  The problem is that I cannot connect to it with my computer.  A bluetooth connection works, but there is limited things that I can do with my phone.

I am running Windows 10 and I have tried bluetooth, USB to RJ45, Inverter to LAN, USB to inverter, but nothing works.  I have WatchPower V1.04 SP1 and also MPP V1.01 but none seems to work.

Please assist: how can I connect my computer to the inverter, and also, how can I connect the inverter to my LAN?

Regards

Hi

I downloaded the newest version of the software but no luck.  I still cannot communicate with the inverter.

Any suggestions please?

Regards

I have exactly the same problem. I'm running V1.3 of the Watchpower PC application. I can see the current status but none of historical data. It would appear that I can't select my inverter's iD number from the dropdown list.

Is yours a genuine Axpert King, made by Voltronic Power (but perhaps branded as a Kodak / Mecer / whatever), or a clone? The 5535553... serial number seems to come up a lot with clones.

BTW, do you mean Watchpower version 1.13? They seem to have Service Pack numbers now too, e.g. V1.13SP7. You can get the latest version here.

What an excellent question. I've no idea. It's a 5kw III. Made in china. The box is white as per the photo on the dealer's web page.

How can I know whether or not it's a clone?

The Ply setting to talk to the US2000 doesn't work either - Error 61

Neither does the Bluetooth connection work. It pairs but doesn't transmit data. Pairing with it using my PC I can see that although it pairs no services are listed.

Have we been sold a dud?

Morning Greg,

I am no expert with the Axpert Inverters, but i had a look at the website link you posted.

Just based on the poor spelling and website, it does look as if they will be inclined to sell cloned devices.

Just my 2c.

The dealer's web page mentions "Voltronic Axpert" and it looks legitimate from the photo (not conclusive, of course).

You follow the steps in this post by yours truly.

That connection is notoriously difficult to get working. There are issues with cables, you need to get some DIP switches correct, and plug into the correct port on the Pylontech.

That seems to be a common problem.

There is no reason to believe that so far.

Here's the side sticker - manufactured in January 2000? The serial number matches the number in WatchPower (before V1.13SP7 that didn't work at all).

Still working on the cable connection.

You say that lack of BT data is common - no solution therefore? It's not the end of the world, I can put together server based upon a Raspberry Pi or a PIC and HC05 - or an ESP8266

For those having Bluetooth connection issues with Axpert King inverters and Watchpower on Android, make sure you have location turned on your mobile device, and that the watchpower app has the location/ gps permission allowed - a dodgy permission to be required imo but it seems to be essential to get the bluetooth connection working.

Does anyone know if the screen firmware has an impact on what you can see on the Watchpower App? I had a faulty screen swapped out and now I have very few changeable parameters in the battery settings via bluetooth.
