So - can someone maybe offer some insight here - my neighbour down the road and I both have a Goodwe 5048. At around 17:50 to 18:15 his  house lights flicker - obviously there is no more sun from the PV and the house power is run from the battery backup on his Goodwe. The power draw was around 1.6kw at his house and the grid use read 0 via SEMS portal (not sure if power was off as we are not on the same grid supply) . His TV works fine - only the lights flicker (led's).  I checked my power as I have a PI connected and saw that the grid power at that stage was between 213 to 215v.  Anyone that can throw some light on this issue?  His batteries cycle down to 80% SOC daily (4 x pylontech 2.4kw) when the sun gives out and then goes to grid power.  Installer cannot give explanation.

I have not had this issue on my Goodwe and 3 x pylontech 2.4kw batteries.  I have a feeling it has something to do with the attached setting although mine is the same.  The explanation is a bit unclear on the second option 'Low Sensitivity'.

I think it was @admiral, who recently had a similar problem, lights flickering, also involving others in the complex if memory serves.

It turned out to be a problematic breaker in the street box, when it came under load.

A dodgy circuit breaker, connection or switch between the inverter output and the lights could cause that flickering.

It was the "street" 60A breaker to our house that had corroded on one side, and was slowly dying.  Also had low 210V moments.

I can't seem to post links, but another thread on this forum was interesting in that it described the problem you describe - lights flickering late afternoon/early evening.

This turned out to be to do with the inverter rapidly switching between solar and grid as the output from the panels went down but not totally off. 

Now

• This was a different brand of inverter - Axpert
• I have a Goodwe and I don't have the problem you describe
• The problem is apparently fixable on the Axpert by means of changing some parameters
• I know that my installers changed several parameters from default when installing my system.

Now... I don't know what all those settings do (and so far I have resisted my impulse to tinker with them and see what happens). But maybe a starting place is for you and your friend to compare settings and see what is different. If you're in doubt about the various parameters (as I would be) then at least you have narrowed the field down.

Hi I have the same issue, but have low load, and the Inverter seems to be resetting

Just some feedback: It was the breaker on the street pole that is faulty. 🤜
