Well I am not familiar with the blue stuff but in general one can say that the BMS is there to keep cells balanced and it will be the emergency brake. When things go out off control the BMS will shut the battery down. But in a well configured system this should not happen and when it happens it should not cause damage in the inverter.

Makes sense, thank you.  I was thinking that the relay would disconnect the battery once it is fully charged, but yes, I imagine the relay is there to disconnect in extreme cases.

The relay opening is akin to a father actually turning the car around after threatening to do so for the past hour... 🙂

Where you have a BMS that can communicate with the inverter, it can issue warnings. You drop that charge voltage this instant or I swear I will...! In the end, the final responsibility is with the BMS. Cheaper BMSes don't warn... you have to know to behave... or else! 😛

(Which is why I always say that sometimes too much is made of the whole comms thing. If you design a well-behaved system, you can get away with much less).

BTW I ended of getting a Daly BMS well made and reasonably priced and works like its meant to
