Hi all I have been a while on this forum but mostly reading what you all have to say. My question today is can you run a axpert inverter without having a Ac input from the council in other words is I am in a cabin in the woods would I be able to use this inverter for a solar setup?

Absolutely. I have run mine off-grid for 9 months now. I do have access to generator power but go for days without using anything but solar energy.

Ok thanks so u leave the ac input with no connection then? Because it has a Ac input and out put. Does the inverter start up with the batteries current?

 

You connect the batteries first and then commission the inverter.

No not necessarily. What is mandatory is photos up on the forum of your install.

You can run them without AC power. But not without DC / battery power. 

Will put pics up when I start Pv and batteries still to come only have the inverter 

Um, was that inverter a particularly good deal? Just that it looks similar to the Must brand knockoffs:

MPP Solar seems to be the Ebay arm of Voltronic, or perhaps one of the licensed resellers that happens to be active on Ebay.

Theterm "hybrid" as applied to inverters usually means grid tie plus stand alone (battery) operation, which the Axperts are not (Voltronic make the Infini series for that).

So I hope it is either a rebranded Axpert (there are several), or it's a good quality knockoff.

Rebranded axpert there are so many different suppliers of axpert under other brands they all get build in the same factory they just get branded to clients specs

Where did you buy this inverter, It even uses the same model number as the one branded as a knockoff from Must

Rubicon brands the axpert as Cb solar it's exactly the same as an axpert same factory and all

Can you post a picture of the sticker on the side containing the model number etc.

Bit worried because the lights on this unit sits on the left-hand side of the LCD where on all other Voltronics models they are below the LCD
