Perhaps tell us the generator model, or post a picture of the remote start cable from the generator.

Depending on the generator, a power supply and relay may be needed.

The important thing to remember is that the relay contact can only carry 3A of load. Thus it will need an interface relay before powering the starter solenoïde.

For any generator that is auto start from the factory, it should just be a matter of running two wires.. When a relay makes contact between the wires, the generator starts.. when the contact breaks, the generator stop

I have a similar situation with my new Genergy Creta Sol generator. I want to send the signal from my Axpert MK1 5Kw inverter to start the generator automatically.

This from the manual of the Creta Sol.  "The Creta Sol model has been specifically designed to support a solar system in exceptional cases where solar energy is not enough. The generator is ready to start and support the photovoltaic system, as well as stop when support is no longer needed. The start and stop of the generator is performed by a contact NO (Normally Open) sent by the solar controller."

So basically I need to know what goes to these two terminals and to which of  NO,  C  and NC at the inverter?

Sorry to butt in on this thread, but it seemed the right place to get answers.

I assume that you would connect A and B (any order) to the C and NO contacts on the inverter. C is common; NO is Normally Open.

On these older models, there may be a setting for the dry contacts to do something special. You almost certainly want the default value for this setting. For example, setting 38 NEC (Neutral to Earth Connection) should be set to DISable.

I´ve run out of time this week to get any further with this. Off to the UK tomorrow for a week for my stepdaughter´s wedding. So will look at it on my return and let you know how I get on.

The house sitter has been given instructions on manually starting the generator if need be, so hopefully there won´t be any issues.

Am seriously considering investing in a newer inverter and keep this one as a backup, I´ve had numerous issues with it.

Another one of the original Pylontech 2000 batteries gave up last week as well.
