RudieB Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Good day to all, I'm new to solar and recently had a solar power system installed. I have 2 x Infinisolar Super 4 KW inverters, 4 x Pylontech US3000 LiItheum batteries. There are 24 x 320W PV panels mounted on my roof in 2 arrays of 12 each connected to each inverter. I have 2 PI's running the latest ICC software connected to each inverter and configured by ICC remotely. The installer and I have checked to ensure that the parallel communication cables and current sharing cables are installed correct. To this end we have studied the manuals and this and other forums to make sure that the installation is 100% correct. My problem is that the Slave inverter runs at almost full capacity whereas the Master inverter runs at 2 - 3% capacity in terms of AC output. How do I get the inverters to produce more or less the same AC output? I do not have SNMP or Modbus cards installed in the inverters. Could this be to the incorrect start-up procedure? Does someone have the correct startup procedure or is the problem something else? Quote

I truly hope they have sorted their parallel issues... This specific model is the reason I will never ever install a voltronic product again - as a matter of fact, I wont even sell one to any of my clients. Quote
RikH Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 I have been told about a year ago by MPP Solar these where discontued. @Jaco de Jongh has a story about these here on the forum about this special type Infini. There where many that had lots of problems with the super 4k especially when parallaling them. When did you get your inverters? And did they do their job ok so far? Sorry I can't help with the question about unbalanced load. Maybe @Youda or @Coulomb can. Quote

Especially wiring of AC and DATA cables, circuit breakers, where exactly are the GRID and LOADS connected. 2) Startup sequence does not really matter. 3) As a quick test, connect roughly 500W of AC loads and then power-off Master InfiniSolar unit (by pressing ON/OFF button). The Slave InfiniSolar should takeover seamlesly. If not, something is wrong in your environment. Quote
RudieB Posted August 3, 2020 Author Posted August 3, 2020 Hi @Youda and @Jaco de Jongh, Thank you for the feedback. @Youda I have confirmed with regards to your point 3 made above. I have turned of the slave inverter (which is the one running at full / over capacity) and the power stays on. The Master unit then takes over seamlessly. As soon as I turn on the Slave unit, it reverts back to the previous state where it can audibly heard working harder and produces more much more AC output than the Master unit. Please refer to the pictures of the installation. I further note that the firmware is on v1. Could this make a difference and if so, where do I get new firmware? Youda 1 Quote

From the absence of Eastron modbus meter, I would assume that you have disabled grid feed-in, which is okay. Please, try these two tests: Test1: disconnect AC-IN from both inverters check the load split turn OFF one of the inverters check whether the 2nd machine will take over seamlesly Test2: keep both inverters disconected from the grid attach roughly 6kW of loads check the load split 28 minutes ago, RudieB said: I further note that the firmware is on v1. Could this make a difference and if so, where do I get new firmware? All of the InfiniSolars that I've seen has been on a kind of v1 firmware. Internally, there are more versions, but the machine is always reporting v1 or something like this, regardless of real firmware version that it's running. The problem is that Voltronic (original manufacturer) is not publishing firmware downloads freely on the internet. This applies not just to InfiniSolar, but to the Axpert portfolio too. The only way to get hands on a new firmware is to fill a complaint with Mecer, include SNs of both machines and push Mecer to get the firmware for you. It will not be really easy, and the Mecer might ask you to ship the machines to their shack in order to perform the upgrade. RikH 1 Quote
Haris941 Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 I have an energy meter installed, can anyone tell me what setting should be set in grid feed calibration for my Infini 3KW plus to export maximum power to the grid? I have set gird tie with backup (3)! Quote
MasterCATZ Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 did you end up getting newer firmware for the hardware ? voltronicpower never reply back to messages and I had 5 of these doing this , now down to 1 working unit because they kept popping 1x blown charger 2x randomly work 1x with f3 error also interested in monitoring software you are running SolarPower v1.16SP5 on linux only shows data for a few secs every few minutes Quote
