Sunsynk and pylontech up5000 Bms error

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Thanks for all the feedback on the forum, it's a great community.

I have a 5kw sunsynk installation, with up5000 pylontech battery. The system always produces a bms error. Sometimes twice a day. Initially I thought its due to special can cable specified, the dip switch is set to 1000 as per sunsynk technical support. What else could cause a bms error?

Don’t have the 5000, but my dip switches are all set to zero

Mine too. The first switch controls the baud rate of the inter-battery comms (Master --> Slave --> Slave). 0 is 115200 and 1 is 9600. Both work. 115200 should be OK if the slaves are in close proximity to the master.

I think the baud rate switch is only used for RS485 which is either 9600 or 115200 bps. CAN uses 500Kbps according to the manual so doesn’t need to switch configured.

Inter-battery comms, not inverter to battery comms,

Hmm. Just wondering where you got that info from. I haven’t seen that info mentioned anywhere in the manual of the US3000 or the C version. Only mention of baud is under RS485 which states “for output batteries information”

It's in the US3000 product manual. The bank of dipswitches control the inter-battery comms, first one controls baud rate, the other 3 are set to define the battery group # master.

Okay. I never looked at it that way. it doesn’t explicitly say that the first dip switches is for inter battery connection. But it also doesn’t explicitly say that it’s not.

The way I understood it is the 1st switch controls the baud rate and that baud rate is mentioned under the RS485 section.

So if the first switch is for inter battery comms then how would one set the battery to inverter comms baud rate.

I guess that it would default to 9600.

Hi There, please see error. We using can... Standard lithium set up. Sunsynk people say we must use 1000 dipswitch.
