June 30, 20215 yr Check the generator voltage is within the accepted range of the inverter and check the frequency of the generator output - you will need a decent meter to do this. The inverter will not accept the input if it is outside the tolerances of the inverter.
June 30, 20215 yr Author Thanks for the responses - the problem was that I use the RTC-Axpert 5KVA inverter as a standalone inverter and then the setting 28 has to be on SIG - it was on PAL. Everything working just fine now. BTW, the 03 setting is on APL.

A quick Google search confirms that.

Certainly, all sorts of problems occur, but I didn't think that rejecting generator input that it would otherwise accept would be one of them. Thanks for the report.
June 30, 20215 yr Yip we live learn everyday ... I have a power quality analyser I should take some screen shots of the terrible wave a generator produces so much for AVR. This is something I have been considering ... using an inverter as a means to clean up the generator wave form ... the axpert inverters I am testing have a clean pure sine wave. The catch is that the inverter is not an "online" device like the more expensive UPS units. when I run the load tests .... it runs smooth ... I have only noticed glitches (spikes) on the wave form when switching loads on and off ... but compared to the grid power its no big deal. I dont change setting 28 to sol when I use the inverters as a stand alone unit ... so that will be a test for the near future ... I will hook up my contractors generator and run a few tests.
