  1. Great advice, thanks! This will be side by side.
  2. Thanks, they didn't come included.
  3. Sorry if this has been asked before - do these usually come with cables included, or do you have to buy them separately? I've seen some kits being sold by online shops. Bought a 2nd battery for my parents from Voltex, but no cables are included, so I just want to double check.
  4. 7777 worked for me, thanks.
  5. Yep, I'm using @iiznh's dongle. For R700 it was a no brainer and basically plug & play.
  6. Similar hardware maybe, but he did mention on his thread that he’s written his own firmware for it.
  7. Hi That’s very possible with this: and Home Assistant.
  8. Bastards. Got mine setup very easily and it’s been amazing so far, thanks. Being able to automate the schedule via Home Assistant for example has been a game changer for me.
  9. Slight change on the input current on the newer models:
  10. Thanks @iixnh ! Can’t wait to start setting it up. 👍🏼
  11. Just a quick update - great service from Romtech. Battery arrived today via Courier Guy. Also, there are 2x 2050mm cables in the box, as well as the short ones. 👍🏼
  12. Awesome, I've sent you a message via Carbonite.
  13. Thanks, yep definitely too short, so I’d need to make new ones up. The batteries will be installed side by side.
  14. Found the user manual PDF which answered my question. 👍
  15. Thanks, time is a bit scarce at the moment, and it's a 100km drive to the suppliers so it's a bit tricky. I was also looking at Solar and Inverter warehouse, their prices are about the same but I was hoping to order from Romtech because they've got some other things I need as well. Thanks, I'll drop them all a mail and hopefully, they can tell me what's in the box.
  16. Hi 1)Has anyone dealt with Romtech before, are they reputable? Looking at buying a battery from them. Any other suppliers I should be looking at? I'm in Centurion. 2)Anyone knows what comes in the box of a Dyness BX51100 battery? This will be an additional battery, so I'm hoping the DC cables and maybe an ethernet cable would be included. Thanks
  17. Quick update. So I've had zero issues with the Mecer 200AH + RCT Axpert 1kw combo, and only managed to run it down once recently when I accidentally bumped the power plug out of its socket without noticing. Upgrading to a fully installed Deye system now, but I can HIGHLY recommend this for running TV and other electronics, I even had a fridge/freezer connected to it. The only caveat is that it's VERY noisy, so it needs to be installed in a garage or far away from people.
  18. I had the 24v version of that one. It had no user configurable options unfortunately.
  19. That is great advice, thanks. I'll set it to 20A, and cutoff at 10.9
  20. Hi Thanks for all the help and advice offered in this thread, I have concluded that the Mecer would suit my needs, so I've ordered and it's arrived yesterday. It was sitting on 13.27v for what it's worth. I'd just like to confirm that these settings are correct? The inverter's charge current is unfortunately set in increments of 10, so it's either 10 or 20. For the time being(under stage 1 &2) I should probably set it to 10 and see how that goes? Thanks
  21. https://pclinkshop.co.za/ups-inverters-and-powerbank/inverters/bms-communication-box-for-using-lithium-batteries-on-rct-axpert-inverters/ I'm assuming this would solve that problem?
  22. Thanks, that's the plan - I wanted to buy one 200ah which would suit my current needs, but then have the option of adding another 200ah later if my needs change for whatever reason.
  23. Thanks, that makes sense. I've been holding out for Vision(stock expected August apparently), but with stage 4 I may end up taking a chance on Mecer.
