The system is also connected to my 10kw 3phase genset which came in use last week during the floods
1 x 12 kw Deye 3phase Inverter
6 x 5.5kw Hubble batteries
16 x 455w Art Solar panels facing South East (only realised this today. App i used was not calibrated)
1 x 250amp fuse holder
40 meters 1.5mm shielded 8 core cable for the CT's
100 meters DC cable for panel
Hager change over switch
Earth wire is two 4mm cables for panels and inverter etc.
Alot of labels
I also added a smart device to tell me when the grid supply is gone and a smart smoke detector
Majority of the electrical items was bought from North Side Electrical
Signal cable from Actsys
Next upgrade Electrician to do COC, to add 10 more panels, move one sting to face North and make each sting of 13 pannels and install trunking for battery 5 and 6
My only concern is the earth spike for the solar is 1 meter away from the generator earth spike and 2 meters away from the earth spike for the electric fence

Deeos got a reaction from hoohloc in DIY solar installation DurbanNo I connected one to another. I was going to do the busbar route but Hubble said if I have it connected via bms it will draw and charge from all the batteries.
I must check this data out on the cloudlink to see if it is doing that. If not then I will install a busbar.

Deeos reacted to JustinSchoeman in What size battery disconnect switchThe manual says Max 240A, so 250A fuse will be fine (providing of course that you have used a minimum of 95mm^2 wire).
No need to worry about surge rating, as these are slow fuses. They will handing double the current for around 30s, so great for protecting the inverter from prolonged surges.
If you follow some other advice, and go for 320A fuses, remember that the minimum wire size goes up to 150mm^2 (on the CoC, the fuse is determined only by the wire size).
(Double check those wire sizes though, I do not have the SANS table handy.)

Deeos reacted to P1000 in 12kw Deye inverter using grid but is it?You cannot measure power with an efergy, it simply does not have all the inputs required. It can only measure apparent power. In the case of an inverter connected to the grid, you are very limited in what power factor you can produce, ideally it should be one. That means that almost all the reactive power get off-loaded to the grid, which is what you are measuring.

Deeos got a reaction from Gerrie in Deye 12kw 3 phase inverterSolis have stated the 30kw model would not work with batteries unless you use a battery charger.
They will have one that will do this in the 3rd - 4th quarter of this year.
I'm going to go with the Deye 13kw for my house and eventually add another unit when I can afford it.
I dont want to have a complexed system.
My ac on full load will draw 25amps 3 phase so I cannot run this for now.
