Infinisolar 4kW Super 3 phase installation
Thanks, Youda, I am aware of the fact that we will not be setting them up for parallel output. The residence does not have any 3 phase equipment and we have advised the client appropriately. I'm still uncertain whether I can proceed as per the schematic in my original post, which illustrates the 3kW Infini in the desired configuration.

Infinisolar 4kW Super 3 phase installation
Hi all, I'd like to perform an installation of 3 Infinisolar 4kW Super's at a 3 phase house. The configuration requires zero export to the grid and thus I will need to implement a smart energy meter, perhaps 3 of them. I have reviewed the documentation pertaining to the "Modbus Server" which illustrates the function of the Modbus server to provide communication from a single smart energy meter (SDM630) to 3 inverters with Modbus cards. The illustration, however, pertains to the 3kW Infinisolar. My question is: Is the Modbus server compatible with the 4kW Super and will this configuration allow me to set up the system so that the inverters do not export power to the grid - i.e. Self-consumption?

New Infini Super
I too am struggling with an install producing fault 12 - leakage current exceeds the limit on a 4kW Super Inverter. Our inverter output neutral is separate from the grid tie input neutral. Had a batch of 4kW supers (at least 3 or 4) producing an E7 error. So far, not impressed with the reliability of this product. As others have mentioned, I too feel like Voltronic are using the public as Guinea pigs to test their new product.

Generator not picked up by 5kW infinisolar
This may be a silly suggestion, but after programming the inverter and powering everything up, have you switched the output of the inverter ON by pressing and holding the Enter/On key for about 5 seconds - ie the light bulb turns on and the load is connected to whatever source is connected and appropriate? With regards to the generator input on the infinisolar units with dedicated generator input, I believe the operating method is as follows: The generator serves to supply the load of the inverter, while the available PV charges the batteries. Once the battery voltage reaches the re-connect voltage as programmed in the settings of the inverter, then the dry contact switch is opened and the inverter begins to supply the load from PV and battery until either standard utility is restored or the low voltage disconnect is reached and the generator is switched on again, on instruction by the dry contact switch. I'll try to double check this and revise if my understanding is mistaken.

Infinisolar not reading PylonTech SOC
What are your cut off voltages, when grid is available and when grid is unavailable? Without dynamic cut off voltage, like the Victrons offer, the Pylon battery can be thwarted by high loads. I'd be interested to see whether the voltage calibration program rectifies the issue, if there is an existing voltage discrepancy. While the warranty terms dictate setting the low voltage disconnect to 48V, the internal BMS will always protect the battery from excessive charge or discharge. Unlike lead acid batteries, you could set the low voltage disconnect as low as you like, and the Pylontech BMS will simply disconnect the battery on low SOC. The only caveat to forcing the battery BMS to disconnect itself from the load and switch off is that you will need to manually switch the batteries back on for the next intended cycle.

Infini 10 failures
We have connected to the one FreedomWon unit and accessed the logs (I still need to pull the logs from the other unit). Two historic trouble codes were recorded: P0A06 - Charge Limit Enforcement Fault P0A08 - Charger Safety Relay Fault Unfortunately, I was not able to interrogate whether these historic faults codes had any time stamps related to their occurrence. I have been reading through the OrionBMS utility help manual describing the DTC fault codes, but I am still uncertain whether this historic event is directly related to the cascade failure of the inverters or is simply a red herring related to the commissioning process.

Infini 10 failures
That's exactly it. Unfortunately, our supplier has demonstrated that they lack the technical competence to provide any input on either diagnosing the cause of the problem and subsequently validating or invalidating the warranty, or providing any kind of comprehensive report regarding the findings of the damaged inverters. Nonetheless, we are working through the problems and our frustrations with the supplier. Any Tom, Dick or Harry with a mild degree of technical competence can change boards in an inverter and call themselves an inverter repair technician, but to find somebody that can actually evaluate the damage and its root cause, down to an elementary component level, is NOT any Tom, Dick or Harry.

Infini 10 failures
Thank you for the input and hypothesis. It is certainly worth interrogating further. My immediate thoughts lead me to believe that we would see damage to the capacitors on the battery side, if the BMS was causing sudden and frequent disconnects and reconnects. None of the inverters that I have opened shows any visible signs of damage to the capacitors - I'd expect to see rupture at the relief marks of the capacitor or black burn marks around the capacitor and surrounding components, nothing like that is evident. I am not an electronic engineer and therefore cannot discard that theory, but those are my thoughts. With regards to the "Activate LiFe battery" in SolarPower, I briefly remember reading somewhere that the inverter sends a high voltage DC pulse "Start-signal" to start/initiate/wake-up the batteries, in the order of 60VDC I believe. I have used this before when working with the Infinisolar and lithium-ion battery packs. Instead of having to manually switch on the batteries, the inverter performs this function with the "Start-signal" - again, this is just my understanding. I'd like to post a couple images here of the damage seen to the DC-DC boards, specifically the BOOST modules - perhaps that will allow for a better understanding and some additional hypotheses.

DataLoggr for Voltronic Infini
Check out ICC (Inverter Control Centre) - compatible with Voltronic inverters at ICC . The most popular solution involves purchasing a dedicated Raspberry Pi and connecting a USB between the inverter and the Pi. The ICC software then allows you to push the inverter data to the cloud which can be accessed via a laptop or smartphone remotely. I find that SolarPower Pro via SNMP is unstable and not user-friendly. I have not experimented with the WiFi card or its end-user interface and thus cannot comment on that product.

Infini 10 failures
Hi all, I've had a cascade of failures in the form of Infinisolar 10kW inverters failing at a single installation site. Any assistance, input and/or advice will be much appreciated towards troubleshooting and identifying the cause of the failures. Setup: 2 identical systems serving 2 buildings. Each system consists of: 3 x Infinisolar 10kW inverters setup for parallel output Approximate 8.5kWp array per inverter FreedomWon 80/56 Lithium-ion battery The system was commissioned in November 2017. The first inverter failed on the 25th of May and was found dead on site The next 4 inverters failed successively over the next month, two displayed error E7, one displayed error E3 and the other was found in a constant state of rebooting One inverter remains and is operating in grid-tie mode only After opening the inverters we have found that each and every inverter has clear but varying degrees of damage to the BOOST module on the DC-DC board and will certainly require replacement of the board. Some inverters showed signs of damage to the Main Board too. We have obviously referred the issue to the supplier, who is assisting us somewhat but is unfortunately technically incompetent and unable to diagnose the cause. I understand there may be a lot more information required to make any conclusive findings regarding a single cause, but let's start it off here. Does anybody have an idea of what could have caused a cascade failure such as this? Is anybody familiar with the failure modes of the Infinisolar 10kW - E7 and E3? Thanks in advance, Nicholas

SolarPower 1.14 - Some new features
Hi all, Has anybody started experimenting with the newest version of SolarPower? It seems to have been released in May of this year. Here's a link SolarPower 1.14 Some new features/functions have appeared in the Device Parameters tab for both the Infinisolar 10kW and 4kW Super (I have not experimented with any of the other inverters yet). Some of the new features that have appeared: "Output neutral line grounding in battery mode" Enable or Disable (Disabled by default) - Seen for the 4kW and 10kW "Battery number" (0 by default) - Seen on the 10kW and I was unable to change this value Has anybody experimented with these settings and understood how they affect the configuration and performance of the system?

Infini 10 kW Inverter
I've noticed the same thing with the help of ICC. See attached screenshot of the battery discharge power (Watts), the inverter load and the power being imported from the utility.

Infini Plus 3Ph 10KW Neutral wire bond/Join with Grid Neutral?
Sorry don't want to derail the informative discussion taking place with regards to Neutral-Earth bonding but with regards to joining the input neutral to the output neutral, I have referred this question to Voltronic last week (July 2018) after experiencing a cascade of failures of Infinisolar 10kW units. The Infinisolars had various fault codes and failure modes and thus we referred the question regarding input and output neutrals to Voltronic. Their representative responded and said it would be better to keep the output neutral separate to the input neutral.
