Does anybody here use the sunsynk GSM dongle? I heard somewhere that it comes with 1 year's worth of data and that you need to purchase data after that. After inspection it looks like a vodaphone sim (probably roaming on Vodacom). Im not sure if there is a way to locally load more data onto it or what the process is to get it recharged. Any ideas?

Achmat, under "Plant Settings"-"Calculation of electric energy" which settings or options did you select? Based on device or based on calculation?

I'm guessing I'm one of the lucky ones. We live in a estste in CPT who allows us to feed back. We get 75% of the normal per kwh fees we would pay back in rebate and on a nice sunny day I feed back around 24kwh. An added bonus is that the same smart meter is used for water and electricity so the credit goes to both on my account.

I just wish that the inverters would register a fault when it loses AC power. According to the manual you are supposed to get an F35 alarm. Seems like a bug since these alarms are not being registered...

Problem is that the Sunsynk inverters purchased 6-12 months ago doesn't have the ATS port (confirmed with Keith from Sunsynk). Is there another solution to create the earth bond?

You will need to contact Deye and ask them if your specific brand of battery can be controlled through BMS by the Deye inverter. Normally they would have tested popular Lithum batteries like pylontec, Dyness etc. If they have tested your battery then they would be able to tell you if you should use the CAN or RS485 ports as well as any special cabling requirements. With some types of lithium batteries you might find that the BMS cannot be controlled by the inverter. In this case, you will need to treat the battery as a lead-acid type and set the charging and discharging protocol following the battery manufacturer specifications.

Can you post a picture of your relay connection up close? The diagram on the manual isn't clear.

Hi All, I'm curious to know if anybody here has any experience with this topic in a scenario where the estate buys bulk electricity from the CoCT and where the estate owns the grid and where the grid is seen as a private grid by the CoCT. I know for a fact that if the generation capacity exceeds >30kVA certain technical solutions needs to be implemented. The solution also changes as per below thresholds: > 30 kVA > 100 kVA up to 999kVA It would be interesting if any estates have gone down this route seeing that more and more people will be installing solar in future and would then possibly want to make use of SSEG in estates where this is allowed.

I currently have 19 x 365W canadian panels connected facing north. I'm interested to add 5 more panels on my east facing roof (North facing is full) but my installer told me its not possible due to orientation. (Apparently panels connecting to the same MPPT needs to face in the same direction) Is a microinverter my only option here? The current panels are more than enough for my needs and my 9.6KVA batteries are fully charged by 12:30PM on a sunny day but i'm selling back to the grid so a small investment to add more panels will pay off in the short term with rebates. Thoughts?

I'm interested to know if the sunsynk has a feature where is disables feedback when AC power is no longer available. (Like in the case of loadshedding). I would assume that this feature would be required going forward. Utility companies might assume that no power if available on a neighborhood grid during loadshedding and could then get a nasty surprise. I know some other inverters have this feature.

Pity we cant get Sol-Ark in SA. Their support is top notch and their youtube videos has helped me with many Sunsynk questions.

Don't hold your breath with the firmware. I requested mine days ago and followed up a few times with no reply. Support seems useless. @Johann1982 can you explain how one can get access to the portal and access local mode?
