Pylontech vs Hubble
I think the issue is the firmware on the bms when connecting to sunsynk. I have 2x am2 on a 8kw Deye... all good.

Long time viewer, ready now
Best solar production day. 2x hubble am2 batteries fully charged by 12, 2x 3kw geysers heated in the day... 23.3kw generated.

Hubble Lithium Battery AM-2 5.5kWh
Just slightly off topic... but still hubble. What is the max SOC will drain the batteries daily. Currently I am on 20%... AM2 x 2

My Hubble AM-2 support experience
Thank you Jason and Powerforum store. I have my one hubble installed, most likely the 2nd one tomorrow or Tuesday. Current one seems good. I will see when the 2nd one is installed. My first one I purchased in Feb 2022, not sure if it's the ones with the issue.

Hi all, I have gone with solar advise, deye 8kw hybrid with 2x hubble 5.5kw batteries and 12 455w panels. Installation will be happening tomorrow morning at 9h30. My current average daily consumption is 36kwh. This is with 2x geysers and a huge marine tank. I have changed the hob to gas, and the oven is still electric however AAA+++ rating. Oven and 1 geyser will go onto non essential, main geyser on essential. Install 2x geyser blankets on Thursday, and the astute smart din switches. Will try(my best) to use home assistant with red node to automate my geyser timing. Will take pics.

Essential vs non essential-Deye
So if the is grid and no solar can 8 run non essentials?
-
Essential vs non essential-Deye
Thanks. Ok confirming, non essential load can be supplied by battery if needed( maybe load shedding or power outages) I want to use bat at night till about 35% leaving about 15% for load shedding. My standing consumption is around 600-700w (mainly due the the marine tank) If I have over 40% bat at 5am 3kw in 30mins is about 1500kwh which should not be too bad. I bought those astute din switches for the geyser.

Essential vs non essential-Deye
Good day, As the title suggests.. I have my installation of a 8kw deye inverter, 12x 455w plus 2x hubble 5.5 next week Wednesday. So we need to decide on essentials and non essential. We have 2 geysers, one for upstairs and one downstairs. The downstairs only used for outbuilding and kitchen( this can be non -ess) the upstairs is bathing... I have got 2x smart timers so scheduling will be easy. I want downstairs to only work when PV is available and in excess. Maybe a 10am kick in. Upstairs I would like 8am kick 9am off, then 15h30 kick to 16h30 off. Question: can " non- essential" still use battery if needed? Eg: upstairs geyser on at 5am to 5h30 on battery.

On selling back your excess power - it's not worth it
1. Does CoJ buy solar from domestic generation? 2. If so, what is required and how much do they buy back for?

Long time viewer, ready now
Sorry 4kw per hour. Finances only allows like 8s 455s.. with plans to increase later. Yes planning for all heavy appliances between sun filled hours. Geyser/dishwasher/etc. Battery to run essentials only... Will still be grid tied.. for now. For me the installation is baffling me. 15k -45k is crazy difference..
