  1. My experience as well. Send them a mail in the morning and got a phone call in the afternoon. Also running off-grid for 4 years non-stop with a 10kW inverter and 3x MPPT chargers.
  2. I was wondering why people don't talk more about MC. We are 3 years off-grid with a 10kW MC inverter, 3x 60A MPPT chargers, 2x 5kW SolarMD batteries and 9 kW of panels - not a day's problem. End of 2019 I send two of my MPPT's in for an upgrade. Got it back within a week, but yes, for the money you pay for MC you can buy Victron.

  4. I have 2x 7.4 SolarMD batteries and the V2 Logger which I use with MicroCare's inverter and MPPT's. It works well although I get an inballance between the 2 batteries i.t.o. battery capacity % from time to time with both battery voltages very close to each other. A quick WA to them and problem is sorted. The longest I have waited for a response was 3 hours. I get support 24/7.
  5. As far as I know it is a hybrid invertor, but for my purposes it is irrelevant (off-grid). My MPPT's are from MicroCare.
  6. As far as I know it is not possible, but contact MC. They are quite helpful. You can try selling the 10kW inverter and then buy a 15kW unit.
  7. I am 15 months off-grid with a 10kW MicroCare Inverter. My system: 10kW MC Invertor 9kW of solar panels 3x 60A MPPT's 2x 7.4kW LiFePO4 SolarMD batteries (so they work with LiFePo4) Cost: R250K wich includes all cabling, connectors, combiner boxes and consumables and a 7kVA backup generator. Self installed. With the current 15% increase my payback period is just over 5.5 years. I am on a farm (I had transformer rental that was about 65% of my monthly account). In my mind a no brainer. Problems experienced: None How long without power due to weather: Once for about 2 hours. Self inflicted power outages: Twice, but that is a story for another day.
  8. For completeness: I have added another 60A MPPT with 2970W (330Wx9) solar panels. Generator did not run once.

  10. I use these timers. They are fairly cheap - think about R300 a piece. They keep time for days. I lost 1 in about 6 months. Clock still works, but it doesn't switch. I have 3 more that is working without a problem.

  12. You can also try SolarMD. They sell a 3.7kW or 7.4kW battery. I have two 7.4kW's an after 11 months still very happy. They have after sales service (24/7 365 days) that is out of this world and they stand by their product.
  13. My pleasure 1) The settings should come from your battery supplier. The settings above is from SolarMD. 2) Not too sure what you mean, but as soon as I have sunlight on my panels the MPPT's start charging. My batteries are charged by 11:30 to 12:30. 3) Understood👍
  14. Correct LiFePO4. I assume you have the manual. Below my settings: 8.1) Float Voltage = 13.4V (X4) 8.2) Boost Voltage = 13.6V (X4) 8.3) Boost to Float Voltage interval = 1 hour 8.4) Boost to Float Current = 15A 8.5) Equalise Charge Mode = Manual 8.6) Battery set Voltage = Auto 8.7) Charge limit = 80% 8.9) Set operation Mode = fmode0

  23. Hi Everybody In 2019 we've decided to go completely off-grid. This realized on 23 Dec 2019 after months of preparation (You will understand if you look at the photos below). In short, I had an outbuilding that was already at roof height and I've decided to do the installation in one of the rooms. It was possible to have all cabling inside of the wall.
