The silver lining so far is that Pylontech has managed somehow to be able to pair some of their legacy batteries with newer ones, not sure about Hubble batteries and Dyness and the Powerwall which seem not to be able to be mixed.

Cost aside, a 400ah Sealed led Acid/Gel battery bank at 50% Depth of Discharge would give me 200ah, ideally or lets be kind and say 150ah on a 24v system. Why then would suppliers recommend getting a 24v 100ah lithium battery, on the same system and on the same loads? This is a Pv/Grid coupled system by the way, with 12 x 250w panels with an MPPSolar Chinese Inverter. Please help.

Consequently then, you and I agree that given what we have read and are told, it means this becomes somewhat of an entry barrier to new battery chemistries as at inception, they are unproven over the course of time and any reviews or opinions shared could be skewed towards an increase in sales rather than the truth of them being good, efficient or competitive by way of longevity. Also component replacements such as BMSs may not be readily available or chips given the present global supply chain constraints and chip shortages, meaning any warranties or guarantees may not be worth the paper it's written on. Hence one would then rather deal with current battery manufactures of "repute" and I say that with a bucket of salt, not just a pinch! lolest.

To be fair, all the literature I have read online and my enquiries with installers points to the position that once you begin with one manufacturer, you are stuck with them. On the whole most contend you cannot mix batteries across vendors because of differences such as: * Battery internal resistance differences (which also even occurs amongst same vendors but different battery firmwares); * Different C-rating... etc

It is the correct link. I'm just trying to figure out if the Hubble Cloud link is touted to be used also with Pylontech batteries and if so, if there, then an option to be able to pair two sets of different manufacturer batteries to one system and have them monitored via the could link?

These backlogs then raise an interesting question and thought... pairing different batteries from different manufacturers e.g. 24v 100Ah Pylontech UP2500 Lithium Battery with a HUBBLE AM-4 Battery 25.5v 2.6KWh. On the surface, it seems illogical, but can it be done? If the Cloudlink for Hubble supports Pylontech, is there hope or it's a pie in the sky? YouTube video link at 3mins: )

Much obliged and many thanks... this is really helpful. Does or would Sunsynk or Deye offer an extended cable up to 20m long for the CT Coil cable, would you know? My inverter position is about that length (20m) from the DB board and line that goes to the meter due to space constraints I'm unable to move the inverter nearer otherwise I risk having a long battery cable of 20m, alternatively, which is bad.

Sweet... how was your CT clamp set up so as to ensure anti-islanding or zero grid feed? Would love to see how your CT Coil is connected. Thanks.

The 2 batteries would work but you would need to monitor your consumption. Also it is recommended for to not over-draw on your batteries, ideally a DoD (Depth of Discharge) to about max 30% remaining would be good, if you can raise it, the better. This will make your batteries last longer.

I think I was avoiding the Multiplus due to having to then also buy the MPPTs separately over above the circuit breakers, disconnects, etc... which brings the prices up. Is your Multiplus II,3000 24v or 48v, what sort of pricing did you have to fork out and are you off grid or grid tied?

Greetings... I'm interested in the EasySolar 24/3000/70-50 - 230V-MPPT 150/70 With CGX. How can I order and also what are the noise levels of this unit under load or in standby mode. I live in a small flat where space is at a premium so ideally would love to have something with low noise decibels. My current MPP-Solar inverter is quite a racket. Also, does this unit need a CT Clamp in order to make sure there's anti-islanding, meaning no power is sent back to the grid during a power blackout. I live of a pre-paid meter.

Currently I have a 24v 3Kva system and my Gel batteries have reached End Of Life (EOL). So I am replacing them with a Pylontech UP2500 24v 2.4kWh battery pack and as funds permit add another one in the new year (2022). Again funds permitting am then looking to upgrade my wiring to be able to support 48v and then get a new inverter, preferable a Victron Multiplus or a Sunsynk 5kva 48v inverter. Once I get the inverter at 48v, ideally would still want to utilize my Pylontech UP2500 instead of getting rid of them as they may be difficult to dispose of, hence the above question. Actually was going to ask the same question, meaning that 24v + 24v = 48v though running Pylontech UP2500 2.4kWh pack... is this feasible... anyone on the forum?

Deye is branded as Sunsynk in SA so it's basically the same OEM product, and yes as @Tariqsays, you are unlikely to hit that R12,000 mark price wise.

I've been hearing some good reviews of the Deye/Sunsynk inverters, in general. I however have several questions to pose: 1. How reliable are they and over what period have these been tested? 2. How good and quick is the support from Sunsynk? 3. How widespread are installers of this product for one to be able to get various quotes and support from installers in South Africa? Here in Zimbabwe, this product is relatively unknown and untried more so given that our local grid tends to have "dirty frequencies". I've not been able to find any local installers who are conversant with this product. 4. I have already a 3kW 24v system running AGM batteries and the batteries are now almost at EOL and would want to upgrade. Given the costs of a certain "blue brand" to go up to 5kW is not cheap and the upfront costs of Lifepo4 batteries either. Could I in the interim buy and install a 5kW 48v system that can be set to charge my batteries at 24v as I upgrade slowly. Is there any inverter out there capable to such capabilities off tinkering on the software side and then go back to 48v once I'm able to upgrade the wiring and the batteries? ...forumites, please help.

I'm hearing raving reviews about it (the Sunsynk), but you are right in terms of long-term reliability, support and expertise by installers seems to be quite fledgling.

Does anyone know what the self-discharge of the Hubble Lithium AM is?

I'm trying to compare it with the Pylontech US3000 and struggling to find the discharge rate of the pylontech to compare. Also warranty is an important factor. The price is tantalising though for it's size. Just found the Pylontech is 0.5c or 1c for 15 seconds, depending on the model.

At only 3000 cycles, though the form factor is good, doesn't that concern you? I'm wondering how long this battery has been in the market to ascertain that it will make it to +/-15 Years as well...
