  1. Hi @idb What do you need to do the automation based on?
  2. Hi @-cK- I am trying to connect to my BSL Battery which has a Pace BVMS do you know if the RS232 on the Pace BMS is a TTL RS232 or is it the old 15V RS232? Can I connect an RS232 TTL to the RJ11 such as the board https://www.communica.co.za/products/wvs-ft232rl-usb-to-serial-board or should I use a conventional USB to DB9 RS232 converter https://www.amazon.co.za/Converter-Adapter-compatible-transfer-condition/dp/B0825XBXTT/ Thanks
  3. I suspect it was probably the cable, I had the same problem on one of my ESP32 installs, the cable seemed to work for everything else so have no idea what caused the problem. Glad it worked for you as well 🙂

  5. Did you figure out what the problem was? Maybe you can help out the next person who experiences it by telling us how you solved the problem.
  6. They are designed to be used for insulation in walls in houses. Would ask them and see what they say.
  7. Am a firm believer in Isoboard, when we renovated our house we changed all the ceilings to Isoboard and the stuff is amazing,
  8. I would put the insulation in, will save you a lot of heat transfer into the surrounding ground.
  9. Hi @MornéM Have you tried using a different computer/usb port/cable? I had the same problem and it started working when I tried a different cable.
  10. DAB ESybox Pumps are water cooled so not fans making any noise Also has a built in pressure tank and wifi connection with app to change settings etc.
  11. Get a DAB Esybox 0.75kw, you won't be unhappy. https://waterpumps.co.za/products/dab-e-sybox-mini-3-automatic-pressure-pump-220v-0-75kw Dead quiet and has a wifi connection, will tell you how much water you are using and there is a setting for higher pressure for a limited time when you want to have a shower etc. Expensive but well worth it IMO.
  12. Where about are you located @Theodore76200 ? If you are in Joburg you are welcome to come through to me and I can have a look at it for you if you like.
  13. Sounds like it could be faulty then. Are comms to your battery BMS still working?
  14. You can use the 8kw code, the modbus addresses are pretty much the same on all single phase inverters.
  15. You can split the port the battery is on into the Canbus & RS485 ports. The easiest way to do it is using a 2 port wall mount RJ45 and then just take the relevant pins to each of the two ports.
  16. @GreenFields The new DEYE 5kw will handle much higher amperages so it will no longer be an issue I think that we will see the price for panels probably staying at around R1500 but the Watt size of the panels increasing as they become bifacial Would be looking for panels with a 55V VOC as the ISC Amperages they give obviously less. Have seen 675W Panels with a max amps of 13.95 @ 55.67V
  17. Hi @GreenFields I think that there are two reasons why it just makes sense to install the bigger panels if you can. 1. On overcast days when production is not at the max, you will be getting 25% more power with the bigger panels. 2. The Wattage of the panels is not proportional to price, there is such a small price difference between the lower/higher wattage panels that it just makes sense in most cases to just get the larger ones. I agree that if space is very limited then you may need to look at smaller panels but unless you live in a garden shed 🙂 is not usually that much of an issue though.
  18. Latest specs from DEYE on the 5kw shows: Max. Input Short-Circuit Current (A) of 17A Max. Operating PV Input Current (A) of 13A Would get confirmation from Sunsynk that they are happy with an ISC of up to 17A.
  19. I think it would be interesting to ask Sunsynk/DEYE what the size panels /max Isc (Short Circuit Current) is that they will cover under the warranty on the 5kw inverters
  20. Get an email from Sunsynk/DEYE confirming that they are ok with the configuration would be my recommendation.
  21. @Azimuth because your battery is at 100%, there are no other DC options to send the power to, if your battery was at a lower SOC it would send the extra power over and above your load to the battery up to a max of 6500W. Your inverter is capped at 5kw AC conversion, so that it is the max amount of DC power it can convert to AC.
  22. @Chunks Switched the settings from "Zero Export - Limit to load only" to " Limited to Home" and it is working perfectly now so I am assuming that the CT Coils are still on the incorrect phases.
  23. Should be feeding 40W in from the grid the way I see it.
  24. Sure, if there is anything else you need let me know Work Mode all soc's at 20% Battery Settings Grid Settings Advanced Settings
