  2. I am living in Paarl and grid tie and feedings back. As long as my rates & taxes account does not show a + at their financial year end all is good. The reason is that they are not geared for actually paying out money to ratepayers and then I will have to declare it as income and then pay tax on it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. @plonkster - what do you mean it is not meant for wind? I have Quattro with Eskom in and 48v battery bank. If I want Turbine to charge batteries how will I need to configure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Does anybody know whether the Victron Quattro can handle a Wind Turbine input? Is there a separate charge controller needed or does it plug straight into the Victron? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Victor on is behaving itself very nicely. Now I am trying to get a monitoring solution sourced and installed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Who did your Schneider installation? I have had a bit of a nightmare with a certain installer calling themselves experts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I can get both these products at about the same price for the monitoring of 2x Schneider RL5000's. Both seem to do about the same thing. The second is a Schneider product and the first is a 3rd party product. Does anybody have an opinion on which product to select. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  9. Thanks@plonkster. Overall seems like a pretty nifty LBB (little blue box). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Any opinions on this monitoring product? Seems as if one can connect the Quattro and the BMV 700/2 and the charge controller to this one unit for monitoring purposes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. In looking at options to monitor both the Victron and the Schneiders I have come accross a product called the Solar-Log 1200 at www.solar-log.co.za. The website says that it can link to ALL inverters but in checking this fact with a local suplier they state the following: "Victron is one of a handful of inverters that uses RS232 protocol. The rest all use either RS422 or RS485. Solar-Log wanted its product to be compatible with the biggest range of inverters and thus went for RS422/485 combination. Imeon, for instance has recently changed their inverter from RS232 to RS485 to fall into what seems to becoming the industry standard for inverters". Any Comment?
  12. I would like to minotor my 2 x Schneider RL5000s so looked at the Conext Monitor 20 but have just received a quote for R20,760.00 excl VAT and excl cables. http://cdn.solar.schneider-electric.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Conext-RL-Monitoring-Options-Application-Note.pdf It does not make sense. Why is it so difficlut to monitor this stuff?
  13. @TTT - The BMV-700 connects to the Victron. If I now get the USB MK2 dongle which also connects to the Victron Quattro, will I be able to get to the battery stats and monitor them via the Quattro OR do I need to connect to the BMV-700 directly Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks. Phoned and emailed Rudolph there. He had no knowledge of Schneider Conext 20 but said he will find out.
  15. Cool thanks. Which shop can I buy the other two products from? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Yes, the MK2 is the unit. I also need a 2 meter network cable from the Victron to the Laptop Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I am prepared to pay somebody or put money into a pot for S/W that can monitor all my kit and display dashboards like Manie's pictures above Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
