  1. Hello I need some help, I have a debate with a technical manager at a solar company regarding the charging of a Lithium Ion battery, the supplier device does not have the option for a Lithium battery, it is a 3kVA inverter. The charging algorithm is shown below. The supplier insists that just by setting the floating charge and bulk charge according to the battery(Pylontech UP2500) that it will not cause any issues. The inverter also shows SOC of the battery on 70-80% whereas the battery SOC indicator states 40-50%. The supplier stated this makes no difference. Please assist. Regards Yashin
  2. Hi All Has anyone been able to get a Leas Acid battery working with this inverter or any non-genuine lithium battery. I just upgraded the firmware in the inverter and no better. Just upgraded Solar Assistant to Beta version to see if that helps. Thanks Wildgrav
  3. Any insight on the purpose of that option ? Supposed to be used when installing a new lifepo4 battery ... But for how long ? 1, 10 or 100 cycles ? What does it do precisely ? Haven't noticed any difference in current limitation for charging & discharging when option is ticked or not ...
  4. Hi I'm posting photos of specs of Inverter as well as battery, there is no name on the battery ! , I'm hoping someone will recognize the make .
  5. Finally, I have had the chance to explore the Solis S6. I have some very interesting information to share. Takes some getting used to having no display or touchscreen...Was it needed absolutely not. It took some time to get used to it but, when using your mobile phone as a local direct Bluetooth connection it just makes a lot of sense that there is no money wasted on a display. It took quite a while to figure out how to pair the device to the Solis cloud application but we got there in the end through some perseverance. The SVolt battery also just paired very easily with a straight 1:1 cable CANbus & Pylontech. I noticed a cable tray that almost is identical to the Sunsynk/ Deye 8kW inverters. However, the inverter seemed to have a higher quality of components. What was especially interesting was a sim card embedded as well as an antenna. I haven't fully exploded all the options on this Solis but it does seem like there is some GSM type of connectivity option for that Sim card to be present. The large Battery LED as well as other warning & information LEDs make for a good idea as to what is taking place on the inverter. I look forward to many more of these S6 units and I'm so glad there is another option on the market other than Sunsynk & Deye. Best of all no 6 weeks wait time of there is a problem with the inverter. This was a first look see install & from what I saw I really see quality & simplicity.

  7. Hi all, New to this. I just recently purchased a new Svolt 5.09Kwh 48v 106ah Wall Mounted Battery and was going to purchase the Luxpower LXP Hybrid 5K Inverter. I sent them an email to see if it’s possible to get it compatible with a cable modification or something else and was given a few words about what’s possible. You can leave it as lead acid mode and limit charge voltage and floating voltage according to battery manual. Which doesn’t sound like a good option for me, so my main question here is what other hybrid inverter (reasonably priced) that I can look at that will be compatible. I’m preferably looking for IP65 (higher humidity is the main reason), I’m less than one kilometer from the coast, but it’ll be in the garage out of weathering conditions. Wifi/GPRS Internet access. Something similar to what I already was looking for, hybrid-backup for the load-shedding . I would appreciate all the help, thanks. Regards
  8. Good Day I need some advice on whether my battery usage per the Sunsynk app is normal, the battery BSL batt 7kw (135AH @ 51.2v) battery. The inverter is an 8kw Sunsynk inverter using the Sunsynk dongle and associated Sunsynk app. I have been monitoring the system for the past few days and I have been noticing my battery drains greater than what the Sunsynk app currently indicates my usage to be. A few days for example my battery was at 89% at 20:00 (no longer any solar being generated so usage was fully on battery) and my daily consumption per the Sunsynk app at that time was 17.9kW. (see screenshot attached). At 22.10 the battery was at 60% and the total daily consumption was at 19Kw resulting in a battery drain of around 29% which appears higher than normal. At a 1.1 kw usage I expected my battery drain to be around 16% (1.1Kw used /6.92 Kw total battery capacity) but yet the battery drained nearly double that total. My battery capacity is correctly set at 135AH on the inverter and the BMS screen the SOH is reported at 100%. The system is about 3 weeks old so practically new. I reached out to BSL but they advised that an 8kw system requires two batteries as per their recommendations hence they cannot verify the accuracy of the information as the system is out of spec. My battery is set to discharge to 20% so up to 80% of the battery is being used. I have monitored on a few more occasions and very rarely does the consumption align to the drop in battery % so just checking if I am perhaps missing something. Thank you in advance for the assistance.
  9. I'm urgently looking for a Dyness PowerDepot H5 Li-ion battery. We want to expand our current battery offering but the supplier doesn't have stock and the new ones are not compatible. Thank you
  10. Dear Forumites Heat kills batteries, that's a fact. According to my battery supplier, my battery will last for 5,000 cycles at 80% DOD/25°C and 3,000 cycles at 80% DOD/45°C. That is a massive difference. But how do you keep batteries cool if they are in an unventilated enclosure, with an ambient temperature hitting 35°C on a regular basis? My previous battery, a 48V 100Ah Akkutech (also looks like a Leoch design) lasted all of 2 months before they started to deteriorate rapidly, before they became entirely useless after another 2. They expanded so severely that they bulged the steel enclosure, according to my supplier a sure sign of overheating. When I opened up the enclosure of my new battery, to see if there is anything I can do, I found this, I don't know, sticky, rubbery, grey goo spread over the side of the batteries. I don't understand its reason - My understanding would be that you need heat to dissipate as fast as possible, and spreading an insulating material over the side of the battery would definitely go counter to that. The next problem is the control board, which, according to the BMS, is a good 3°C warmer than the batteries themselves. Now why would you put batteries into a steel enclosure, and then add a heater to it? Why is the space of the control board not separate from the space of the batteries? Any advice?
  11. Hi guys, Have anyone noticed the first (0-25%) charge light of a Volta battery flash red when battery is fully charged? BMS comms working with 5kw Deye inverter, single battery, float charge disabled. Deye also reports 0x000C alarm code on BMS. Any help would be appreciated!

  16. Hi guys, please kindly assist, I am having solar system of 8KW DEYE Inverter, 8x 455 Panels and 1 x 5.12KW CFE Lithium battery. The battery settings are as follows: Shutdown: 20% Low Batt: 35% Restart: 50% Around 5am, the battery was sitting on 43% and the consumption was round 300w. Then around 7am we were up and busy preparing for work, ironing and stuff and the inverter stopped supplying the house. When I went to check the battery was on 1%. isn’t that it was supposed to stop supplying immediately when the battery got depleted below the 20% as per the settings?

  19. I have an inverter connected to the garage where i have 4 battery (2x12v-150a=24v+2x12v-150a =24v ) in parallel, i have the 3.2kwh 24v model. Al the cablage seem correct , battery charge from utility is 60A and cut off settings is 22v ... something strange i try the capacity of my battery pack (7200kwh 50% of use=3.6kwh) the load is 600wh....Theoretical 6h of usage in battery mode... But after 45min all go to shutdown... Is somehing wrong in my settings or i have to check my battery? (battery are new)
  20. Good evening, I have a GROWATT 5kW inverter and 1 x 3,5kWh Pylontech connected. The 150A circuit breaker trips intermittently. Do I change the circuit breaker to fuses? The inverter does not pull the utility in when the load gets a bit high, over 2,2kWh

  22. Hi I have setup the Solar assistant that it must only export when battery is full, but as soon as I turn this on, it starts to export. The other issue with this is it seems to even take away power from the battery charging to try and "reach" the export amount that is set, I have also selected priority load. I thought with this setting that it would first charge the battery to 100 soc and then export excess to the grid. What am I missing to achieve this? Thanks
  23. I have a lifepo4 12v lithium battery that was left uncharged for more than a month. It also got shorted by accident. How can I know if the battery is ok?
  24. I have 2 Must PV1800 Pro 5.2kW in parallel off grid with 12x12V 200ah = 600AH AGM battery bank and 12x 550W Canadian solar panels. It functions satisfactory to a degree since December 2023. 1st issue is when battery is full only the master inverter throttles PV production whilst the other gives full PV power available and thus battery overvoltage then loss of synchronisation alarm (84) comes and reboots itself within 60 seconds and continues working fine there after. 2nd issue is the dataloggers is giving me exact same values of production but the inverter screen is different by a big mmargin like 60W and 2.4kW on the other. This hhappens during the 1st issue when the battery is full and no meaningful load (not sure if this is the amateur float bug or not) Questions 1. Can I use Lead settings to reduce chance of overvoltage? AGM charges at 57,6V and LEAD at 56,8V well below the 58V overvoltage. 2. Is there implications for charging at 56.8V instead of 57.6V? 3. If i parallel every 12V battery will this lead to balanced battery? 4. Should I enable equalization on these AGM batteries? Narada 12V 200ah 3. What can I use to monitor the 2 inverters and see correct PV production and Load ?
  25. Hi All can you run a neey 4amp active balancer in parallel with a pace passive balancer with out blowing up the pace balancer.
