November 18, 20214 yr Hi All, I'm currently planning a solar install and have been trawling through the forums - amazing the amount of knowledge available here. What remains a bit of a mystery for me is how much to put on LOAD and how much to leave GRID side. From what I understand everything on GRID side goes offline during loadshedding with this inverter, and the inverter will only supply the LOAD output with energy stored in either the batteries or available from PV. My thinking is currently to put the main house DB on LOAD and remove the Geyser, Outbuildings and Oven from the main DB. So that basically all the circuits/plugs/lights on the house's main DB is always available as long as there is PV / Battery via the inverter. My instantaneous peaks of load is way less than the 5kW the inverter is rated at - total daily use is < 20kWh a day. I can totally do without the geyser and oven and outbuildings during load shedding, so having those GRID side is to me the most appropriate place to put them. For those with Synsynks/other Hybrids. How have you approached the introduction of this inverter in your installations, everything on LOAD, nothing on LOAD and just using it in Hybrid/GridTied mode, or a split as I am thinking above. November 19, 20214 yr I have the same inverter, the whole house is on load except underfloor heating on grid and geyser on aux. Inverter trips sometimes if too many things are on at the same time. I can live with it.
December 4, 20214 yr Author Thanks @phidz. Im going to do just that and see how it goes. House on LOAD, Geyser on AUX and outbuildings on GRID. Will monitor it and see how it goes.
December 4, 20214 yr @StickeyTape, the AUX is part of your total load, so if the geyser has a 2 kW element, then you are left with 3 kW, I have mine on the grid ( non essential side )

December 4, 20214 yr I have an 8kW Deye and decided to put everything but the stove on essential. The stove is on non-essential but after the CT coil, so still benefits from excess solar production without frying the inverter. When loadshedding strikes it is easy enough to flick the switch on the geysers to preserve battery power. With a 5kW I would put geysers and pool pump on non-essential as well. But make very, very certain your CT coil is placed right after the main switch. Edited December 4, 20214 yr by Scubadude
