Hi Everyone.

I am also experiencing issues with setting up  my battery type as Li on my 5kva Growatt Inverter. I am running my battery type setting as AGM.Is it safe to do so ?

However i have managed to find a N Energy 4.8 Manual. I will attach it shortly.

Has anyone found a solution on the growatt inverter?

Hi Guys. So I also have a communication fault between the Luxpower and Dyness (BX51100) battery. I changed the battery type to lead-acid with the associated voltage parameter settings. That seems to resolve the communication issue (or probably negate the need for communication). I used the app and the interver HMI to do the setup initially, however the inverter still didnt charge the battery. Only when I entered the settings on a laptop (https://af.luxpowertek.com/WManage/web/config/inverter) did it work.

Below is a pin diagram I received from Luxpower tech support ([email protected] - they are very quick to respond). Unfortunately this is not the fualt in my case, so the communication fault remains an issue if anyone has any advise it will be appreciated...

I also have what I assume is a BMS communication problem.  Have a Lux-Power 5kW SNA inverter and 3x3.6kWhr Mecer (Dyness) batteries.  Only when Escom is off and on "Lead-Acid" the inverter take load no problem, but as soon as its on Li-Ion ("8" for Dyness) it refuse to take load even below 10%.

When Escom is on however, no problem, it take load supplied from solar and/or batteries (grid on zero).

The supplier did a firmware update but still the issue is not resolved.

Please let me know if you get any info that might be relevant to my situation.

Hi Theo. I found out the Luxpower PIN configuration changed recently, so likely the LAN cable supplied with the Dyness battery and marked for Luxpower is probably incorrect / outdated. The LAN cable should be a strait pin to pin configuration. I did the installation for my Skoonma - haven't been back to see if that will resolve the issue, but I believe it should.

Please let me know if you've tried this and/if you found another solution.

I was wondering about that, in some places the wires are swapped and other not, now that make sense.  After multiple firmware updates and a different cable, it seem to be working now.

Almost through load-shed and its taking load for a change without tripping, so I'm hoping thats the end of my issues :) .

Nice! Glad to hear that..

Hi, has anyone used an Ouco UB5000CM battery with Lux SNA inverter and managed to get bms between inverter and battery working correctly? Inverter can see battery percentage, voltage, etc. but does not charge battery and even when mains is on it uses the battery instead of power from mains.

Never mind, managed to sort it out.

Hi! How did you sort this out? I have the same problem for my installation. Battery Pylontech US3000C (two in parallel) are not charging. Looks like inverter see  the battery? at least it shows capacity and current charge value but does not charge the battery at all.

Thanks.

Hey all,

Managed to get this working on a Luxpower SNA5000 and Hoselect Battery LiPo4 48v, 100a.

Used the standard RS485 setup....

Inverter - RS485/CAN port

PIN 1 = RS485B

PIN 2 = RS485A

Battery - RS485 port

PIN 7 = RS485A

PIN 8 = RS485B

Battery DIP switches = 1 0 0 0

Battery settings on Luxpower:

Battery option 3 - Lithium

Battery type - 18 or 21

Hey @MetaB

Just wanted to reach out and say thanks I used your pinout today on a Luxpower SNA and it worked brilliant and inverter setting to 21 on brand worked like a charm for me.

Hi, what inverter are you using?

If it is a LuxPower SNA, all dips on your battery must be in of position, use can cable and try lithium battery brand 2, remember to set all your charge and discharge settings again as they default when changing battery settings. Also on your application settings change ac first start time to 00:00 and ac first end time to 23:59 if using inverter as a ups. Hope this will help.

I have a 5kw Ouco inverter and lithium up 5000 pylon tec battery. Since an update accrued last week the inverter does not charge the battery from the grid and just runs it down during the night. Could be a communication issue or I don’t really know what the issue is? Any help or support? Thanks

Good day

Can anyone please help me - I have a Lux 5000 inverter connected to Revov R9 BMS but I get battery communication failure.  I used pins 1 & 2 on Inverter to Pin 2 & 1 on BMS with battery type 20.

Hi, did you resolve your issue?

Hi there. I have the SNA5000 WPV Luxpower inverter with a 100AH 5120wh enersol battery. Can someone provide me the pins for the communication between the inverter and the battery please?

Any advice?

I've seen the following mentioned:

  • Battery brand Protocol set to 12
  • Only Dip 1 on battery switched on
  • If inverter serial number starts with 228 or higher then use a normal network cable
  • If inverter serial number starts with 227 or lower then use a crossover network cable

Hi Everyone,

I just got the luxpower 5000 with Dyness 5.12 combo.  Inverter cannot connect to battery using lithium ion with brand 8 setting.  Got it connected on lead acid. Used cable sent with Inverter and connected exactly as instructed.  Is cable a problem? Want to connect Inverter to battery via lithium ion setting.  Higher end product, so expect it to work without these glitches.  Please assist
