July 12, 20196 yr Hi We went solar and am sitting with 2 options now. I have 2 geysers each 150l. The 1 is solar, the other is element. I have 2 options, either circulating pump between the 2 geysers or gas. Any opinions please.
October 29, 20214 yr Reviving this thread - I have two Geysers at the moment, 1 servicing downstairs and 1 servicing upstairs, both run on EV tubes. As it stands I have people using the downstairs geyser which is fine at the moment, however when they move out I will not be using that Geyser as often. Would it be possible to run hot water from this geyser, to the one upstairs so that I can make use of both heating sources? It is probably about 30m away from each other.

Water pipes are a huge loss of energy. I insulated my pipes and the insulation still gets very hot to the touch. The ΔT between ambient and the water is huge. So you will have huge losses even with insulated pipes. If you don't have insulated pipes, forget it. Edited November 2, 20214 yr by Gnome
November 3, 20214 yr Thanks Gnome, but apart from the insulation and heat loss which one can work around, the theory is sound ?
July 18, 20223 yr Hello Blowdart18. New on this forum, and not used to english acronyms... What are you guys calling "EV" tubes exactly please... Hoping I could help you with an answer after understanding ALL of the question (if not too late ?)... Lionel.

July 19, 20223 yr Hi Scorp007, and Thanks ! Waiting for Blowdart18 reaction, I was also wondering if the word "Geyser" is corresponding to a tank + EV tubes ? Most of them are (usually) thermo-syphoningly circulating the hot water ? or with electric pumps ? Because, thermo-syphoning two different tanks (with no pump) is only possible if the hotter tank location is underneith the cooler tank I would say... And it seems that could indeed be the case here. May be some pictures could help answering (?). Lionel. P.S. : I would first think that connecting the tanks "in //parallel" pattern would be a more interesting solution for two tanks to be conncted to each other, than really in a "serial" pattern here (?)
