kodak 7.2 earth bonding

Featured Replies

You can find this out: Disconnect everything from inverter, shut it off. Then probe continuity with a multimeter between AC neutral output terminal and earth terminal. If there is continuity then there is automatic bonding. If not, you have to do it externally.

It's all built-in, and you don't have to do anything special.

If you need to prove to yourself or someone else that the bonding relay exists, the instructions are a few posts back.

Based on the earlier post on how to test for the bonding.......

If everything is switched off can the bonding relay be powered to create the bond only when in island mode?

It's a NC relay & the coil is energized with Grid power.

Yes, it's a normally closed contact, and it's energised when AC-in is connected to AC-out. Both active and neutral connect and disconnect at once. For many models and at least with SUB output source priority, and certainly with utility first output source priority, this is any time that AC-in (usually but not always grid) is present. But there are cases when AC-in is present, but it's not connected to AC-out, so the AC-in neutral is not connected to AC-out neutral.

It all "just works" because AC-out neutral is always grounded by only ever one of two paths: via the AC-in neutral (and thus the premises' neutral to earth bond), or via the relay contact.
