April 25, 20233 yr Good day, i need some advice please. We currently have 2x MK1 5kw 48v Axpert inverters and im quite happy with them. At Location 1 we have no Eskom, not even close. I would like to add a 3rd Axpert due to expansion and high inrush current motors being used but im struggling to find a compatible model. Now i can move them to a different location (2) where there is Eskom along with one of the 7kwh batteries as the prepaid meter there is limited to 30A, but im not sure if this is a wise choice with all these new inverters with blending capabilities etc? The installation there would only serve as a anti-loadshedding meassure as Pv is not currently a consideration there, but might be in the future depending on how bad loadshedding gets. I just dont know if the extra features are worth the extra money? Currently im thinking about moving them out to location 2 as it seems as im not easily going to be able to add more units to the current system (at location 1) and at location 2 they seem to be a good fit due to the requirements and limitations there? Now if i do this i would need new inverters at location 1. I would like the ability to have 3 phase to power larger motors for a commercial application as currently we are running machines with 2kw motors. I have other questions about 3phase that i would like to ask, but i think ill create a new topic for that (using 3 phase and single phase equipment at different locations/buildings etc) What would you recommend i do and if i change out the inverters which ones are recommended? - keeping in mind that at location 1 non of the grid blending features etc would be of benefit. I also dont want to invest in inverters with poor support/upgrade capability. Are the Sunsynk/Deye inverters really so much better than the other offgrid inverters out there even if the use case is strictly off grid? April 25, 20233 yr If you are happy with Axpert why change? (I'm too) For a 3 phase system you need 3 ore more units. With the actual 2 units you would have to find a third with exactly the same firmware version. Also you would need more battery capacity.

April 25, 20233 yr @BritishRacingGreen Only certain Axperts have the capability to run in parallel? Do all those that can, have a feature where they can be synchronised 120/240 deg-out-of-phase with the master, for 3-phase operation?

Yes the MKS models can be in SIG (single), PAR (parrallell, 3P1 (3ph #1}, 3P2 or 3P3. The last three is your 3ph modes. The later generations also have VM (value line) models but only entertain single mode.
April 27, 20233 yr Author After some reading it seems that the 3phase 12kw deye/sunsynk inverters are the best current value/features if one want to go 3phase as they can supply unbalanced single phase loads. Adding one later if needed also seems a better option than 3x 8kw single phase units. Seems as though 6kw per phase is supported on off-grid mode = 18kw total? or am i missing somthing? May 1, 20233 yr Author Ok, so im thinking of going the 2x 12kw deye 3 phase inverter route. We currently have a 2x 5kw Axpert system with 36kwh solarmd batteries and 24x 320w pv panels (12x per inverter). Would like to add another pv string as well. What can i expect to pay for the labour only to do such a conversion?

I know of a few commercial and light industrial users that are going for Atess inverters. But I have seen those coupled with "high voltage" batteries. If you were looking at 3x12kW inverters, that may have been the way to go.

Its going to be too expensive to change them out as well. So a LV 3phase inverter is needed
