Antony Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 (edited) Apologies if this has already been discussed, I came across an ad in gumtree claiming a new model, is this true and what is the differences...? And how would you know what to look for to compare? Are there model versions? Axpert MPPT (pf1) 5kva-5000w Inverter NEW Model!!!! https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-other-electronics/germiston/axpert-mppt-pf1-5kva+5000w-inverter-new-model/1001971907340910266057109 Edited August 11, 2018 by Antony Quote
Chris Hobson Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Yes - a 5000kVA 5000W model whereas the previous model was 5000kVA 4000W model a power factor of 1 versus the previous model with a power factor of 0.8. It has a battery equalisation function the previous model did not have. Antony 1 Quote

But isn't that model like over a year old already? I also recall that it is mostly the same design, they moved a few things around on the board to fit an extra FET, and then they used slightly better FETs with a higher voltage rating, but also a slightly higher RDSon value, which dropped the efficiency by 1%. I think they also used a slightly higher rated capacitor on the low voltage DC bus. So overall they should blow up less often, but I'm not sure if you can call it "new" in any sense :-) Quote
