Kodak OG5.48 to BL3.6 BMS cable pinout

Thanks Sam, managed to get it working.

Here is the correct pinout for the RJ45 cable:

Inverter 5 to battery 7

Inverter 3 to battery 8

Battery type needs to be set to PYL. Seems the Kodak BL3.6 is manufactured by Pylontech.

I got the pinout wrong initially and then got the dreaded error 61, so thought I had to do firmware first. Double checked the cable this morning and noticed my mistake. Once fixed and plugged in battery light on inverter started flashing and charge/float voltages automatically set.

Seems to be properly communicating now (does the battery light/icon on inverter keep on flashing or is it supposed to go solid again?).

Also, for someone who has this issue, no need to get cable professionally crimped, you can cut any network cable and splice as per above pinout. Doesn't look A+, but does the job.

Fyi this just means the bms uses the pylontech protocol to communicate with the inverter, there are quite a few batteries out there that do.
