Greetings Forumites some info would be most appreciated. My neighbour recently purchased this battery and I cannot seem to find any manufacturer information regarding it. It's "coffin shaped", I kid you not, and is very heavy, possibly around the 90Kg mark and the retailer has given a warranty of up to 10years. A warranty is only as good as the reseller still being in business. It's been paired to a 48v Tripp-Lite Inverter which only has dip switches for setting parameters and this has been done.

Hi there , i have the same battery .It seems to be doing me very well ... I am just not sure if my bulk and floating charge are set correctly .. I am also using a wifi dongle to connect, change and monitor the battery

I purchased a FiveStar 48400 March 2024. I have back up inverter as the inverters seem to be better the weakest link in the chain.

On the evening of 16 November 2024 I heard crackling noises coming from the battery. After observing this for some time 30mins my inverter packed with a large grunt. I continued by connecting the battery to the backup inverter.

As soon as I switched the battery on I heard what sounded like a power surge through the inverter. I then switched off and disconnected the battery . I am now using my old lead acids and all works. Seems like my battery is poked.

Looking to have it tested .. any advice welcomed

Hi members.

Have anybody used FiveStar LiFePo4 batteries with a 5kW Goodwe inverter.

Mine currently hooked to BYD battery box but need to expand (adding Fivestar to the BYD) or replace the BYD.

Would appreciate comments from experienced users out there.

Thank you.

In my experience, you need a battery that the Goodwe has a program for (this does not include FiveStar) OR you need a battery that can take over and tell the Goodwe what it wants. My Freedom Won does this. I doubt it's the only brand that has this ability. The inverter is set for default lithium, and when the comms cable between inverter and BMS was plugged in, the BMS took over and set the Goodwe the way it wanted. The "self-define" option on the Goodwe is a hang over from lead/acid battery days.

My understanding is that you currently have a BYD B-Box. Why do you think that the FiveStars can be paralleled with the BYD? Which will be the master and which the slave? I have been told that you get virtually any battery to work with any other, but this is not something inverter manufacturers (or battery manufacturers!) will support or want to have anything to do with.

HI Guys

an update on the fivestar battery 400ah - i have installed a 16kva Deye inverter and the batteries are working well- the inverter picks up the batteries as a PYLON. and cummunicates fine with these batteries. how ever i did find out that the batteries diod not give their full performance so i had a guy from fivestar come out and check for me, they were set as a 300ah battery it took him 1 minute and he reset them to 400ah and n ow they work correctly. apparently this is common on these fivestars they set them down so you go and buy more.

Has any one tried connecting a full time display on these 400AH Fivestar batteries. would like to know if its possible to see the cell voltages without using a laptop. is there possibly a place on the BMS to plug in a display.

So I have seen some great prices on these brands, but I am not familiar with them. So wondring if anyone had some experience with them. The 2 year warranty also doesn't instill confidence

Example: 59K for 20kwh

HI I got these at fivestar in JHB R26000-00 each for a 20kw 400ah
