Thoughts on 1x24Kw 3phase Sunsynk or 3x8KW Sunsynk's

Featured Replies

I need to install a three phase system of 24KW. Would 3X8KW inverters do the same job as 1x24KW unit. Mounting space is not a problem and the 8KW units is already available, Is their any cons installing three units instead of one?

I would install 3 x 8kw inverters just for redundancy purposes.

I have done single phase Sunsynks and like the symplicity, This will be my first 3phase Sunsynk setup. I have been contemplating for a while now whether 1x3ph unit or 3xsingle ph units. I think I'm also toward the 3xunits but can still be convinced otherwise if I can find good reason.

Sunsynk offer a 24Kw inverter?

I already have 8KW units in stock, I'm not sure if it will than be beneficial to go for the 24KW unit.

I'd go for 2x12kW over 3x8kW because you have redundancy, and you have 12kW per phase, where with the 3x8 you only have 8kW per phase. I can't find specs on the 24kW unit you refer to, do you have a link?

Have you looked at other inverters  or are you already decided on the Sunsync?

There is a new kid on the block SMA Sunny Tripower 25kW Three Phase Grid Tied Inverter @Gerrieplease try it we need some feedback very renowned inverter in Europe and America. They also have an exchange program in stead of repairing the faulty unit and waiting 5 weeks if you are lucky lately happening with Sunsynk.

But that's a grid-tied, so no battery. They also cannot do unbalanced output, so not ideal for residential.

Those are great, but in a different class than sunsynk. You still need another inverter for solar, as those are battery only.

Here is the new kid. I would love to install a SMA and compare it to Sunsynk and Deye

I have seen these Sunny boy's in action in a couple of hospitals, they are very impressive. But yes they are in another league than Sunsynk.

I'll be installing the 3x8KW for a office block, but it will only be for all the essential loads as I have already split all the DB's in Essential and non essential sections.

Essentials = All office plugs, lights and security lights, Server room, camera's, electric fences, gate motors and fridges. (Must have battery backup)

Non Essentials = Geysers, Factory machines and factory plugs and AC's. (All Non Essentials will still have generator back-up though)
