February 1, 20242 yr I'm assuming this is the Sunsynk inverter's wording for the function that is known on the Deye as "Grid Peak Shaving." In that case, as above, it's to limit the power that is drawn from the grid to a max value, and the inverter will supply the rest. That would be useful in the case where you have a weak grid. Here in SA some towns are said to have already moved away from load-shedding to load-limitation, so you could conceivably use this function in that scenario.

I'm going to guess it's someone with a 50kW 3-phase inverter, eg. used in a small business, and that the app caters for all users from the 5kW up to the 50kW model. Thinking now of industrial users, that's another possible application of this load-limitation feature, to ensure that your highest draw from the grid remains below the peak notified demand, so that your billing stays low, ie. Eskom doesn't need to provide a higher more expensive feed to your premises. Edited February 2, 20242 yr by GreenFields

This just leads to why in an industrial application with a say 50kW import/use limit does the APP only allow 32kW. Up to 16 inverters might be used in parallel so easy to exceed this level.
