Price for the automated system? The below 9kg extinguisher is >4k

What exactly is the rule for Lithium batteries indoors? They just shouldn’t be in living spaces and be in an outbuilding? I’m curious what the regulations say.

I ask because wouldn’t most fire issues be avoided if the batteries are installed next to a firewall away from living spaces and away from flammable objects?

Lithium doesn’t catch fire. It just generates a ton of heat which burn things around it. That’s what I saw from my research.

There are not any regulation in SA( Sans) that prohibit the installation of lfp in living area's. For that matter afaik there aren't any country which outright bans indoor use of lifepo4 batteries although new BS(British Standards)for battery storage systems restrict installation in sleeping areas and near escape routes, emphasizing safe placement.

Thanks Andries for the above. Just want some clarification. What is the price difference between your actual price quoted as per your link above and Fireblock added as your description states ,"Fireblock ready" does your price include the Fireblock suppression or is there a additional charge to add the Fireblock suppression.

The price above includes the Fireblock Suppression system built into the battery. It does not include the Fireblock extinguisher.

The extinguisher is sold separately

That is correct. We do have discounted prices for installers once they have applied and met the requirements.
